The Yamaha YZF-R1 was introduced in 1998.\u00a0 In 2023 it celebrates its 25th anniversary and in the media is heavily speculated how Yamaha will celebrate this.\u00a0 Allegedly with an upgraded special model.<\/p>\n

Special model with extreme wings<\/h3>\n

The Japanese magazine Young Machine, which in the past proved an incredible nose in terms of rumors, reckons with a special model.\u00a0 They show how they imagine the motorcycle in a rendering.\u00a0 The R1 has been designed in the iconic white and red colors, and the 90s-style YZF logo is also present.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Particularly striking are the mighty winglets at the front, which are somewhat reminiscent of the winglets on the new BMW S 1000 RR thanks to the protruding “lower lip”.<\/p>\n

Or is it a new model after all?<\/h3>\n

However, the presentation of a new R1 would also be a good possibility.\u00a0 As early as June 2022, registration documents for the FIM surfaced listing a new R1 model with which to compete in motorsport<\/a>, powered by a 998cc four-cylinder.<\/p>\n
