{"id":138801,"date":"2024-01-07T12:01:00","date_gmt":"2024-01-07T11:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/motorcycles.news\/?p=138801"},"modified":"2024-01-07T11:46:37","modified_gmt":"2024-01-07T10:46:37","slug":"ian-hutchinsons-comeback-at-the-2024-isle-of-man-tt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/en\/ian-hutchinsons-comeback-at-the-2024-isle-of-man-tt\/","title":{"rendered":"Ian Hutchinson&#8217;s comeback at the 2024 Isle of Man TT"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Setting off for new heights<\/h3>\n<p>This year, Hutchinson will compete in the RST Superbike, RL360 Superstock and Milwaukee Senior TT races on the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP.\u00a0 He will also compete in the Monster Energy Supersport races on the new CBR600RR.<\/p>\n<p>Hutchinson&#8217;s return to the TT Mountain Course is particularly notable as he was forced to withdraw from last year&#8217;s race after suffering a stroke.\u00a0 Despite a quick and full recovery, standard Motorcycle Racing Association protocols prevented an earlier return.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>An unparalleled achievement<\/h3>\n<p>His success in 2010, when he became the first rider to win five TT races in one week, remains unsurpassed.\u00a0 In 2018, he rode for the team in the Supersport class, but 2024 will be the first time since that historic achievement that Hutchinson has competed in all classes for the team.<\/p>\n<p>With 16 TT titles to his name, Hutchinson is the fourth fastest TT racer of all time and was fifth fastest in 2016 with a lap time of over 133 mph.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Hutchinson&#8217;s view of the future<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Ian Hutchinson is optimistic: \u201cI\u2019m really pleased to be back with Clive and the team. I think that the way that I work and the team works just fits right. Clive puts together a bike you know you can get on and ride fast straightaway. With injuries, COVID and missing last year, I don\u2019t feel as though I\u2019ve had a good run at the TT since 2017 and so it\u2019s ideal to be with the team that can let me get the laps which is what I need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve already been out testing in Spain and we\u2019re back out again to Portugal and Spain in the next few weeks, plus we\u2019ve plenty more track time in the run up to TT so I\u2019m really looking forward to what 2024 can bring.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Clive Padgett&#8217;s view of the future<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Clive Padgett, Team Principal of Milenco by Padgett&#8217;s Motorcycles, is delighted: \u201eWe\u2019re absolutely delighted to have Ian back into the Padgett\u2019s racing family.
