{"id":152243,"date":"2025-01-30T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-30T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/motorcycles.news\/?p=152243"},"modified":"2026-02-02T09:30:01","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T08:30:01","slug":"wh-racing-returns-to-the-isle-of-man-tt-with-marcus-simpson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/en\/wh-racing-returns-to-the-isle-of-man-tt-with-marcus-simpson\/","title":{"rendered":"WH Racing returns to the Isle of Man TT with Marcus Simpson"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>New contract for Simpson<\/h3>\n<p>The 26-year-old Manxman will compete in several racing classes for the Newcastle-based team.\u00a0 He will compete on a Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP in the RST Superbike TT, Milwaukee Senior TT and RL360\/PE Superstock TT.<\/p>\n<p>Simpson attracted attention in 2023 with a strong performance at the Manx Grand Prix, where he finished second in the Senior race behind fellow countryman Joe Yeardsley.\u00a0 The following year, he took part in the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/en\/tag\/isle-of-man-en-2\/\" target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Isle of Man\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"2597\">Isle of Man<\/a> TT for the first time and rose to the challenge in all classes.<\/p>\n<p>Although his debut at the TT was not without its difficulties, the Douglas-born rider was able to record some respectable successes.\u00a0 His performance in the Superbike TT was particularly impressive, where he achieved 12th place with a personal best of 125.918 mph (202.638 km\/h) on a privately entered Honda Fireblade.<\/p>\n<p>Further laps at over 125 mph (201 km\/h) followed in the Superstock TT, where he finished in 21st place.\u00a0 He also secured another bronze replica in the Supersport TT.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Simpson on his new contract<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cLast year, the TT was a real challenge for me and it didn&#8217;t go as I had imagined,\u201d said Simpson.\u00a0 \u201cBut if someone had offered me a 12th place and a lap time of almost 126 mph in the Superbike race at the start of the two weeks, I would have jumped at the chance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI learned a lot last year &#8211; both on and off the track.\u00a0 That definitely put me to the <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/en\/tag\/review\/\" target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"noopener\" title=\"test\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"14405\">test<\/a>.\u00a0 But I&#8217;m more experienced now and with this two-year contract there&#8217;s no more pressure.\u00a0 I can just go out, have fun and continue to develop.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know the Fireblade inside out and I think I&#8217;m in a better position if I focus on my strengths.\u00a0 This will give me plenty of riding time to build on my experience of the last few years, because I know that more is possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>WH Racing back in the TT paddock<\/h3>\n<p>WH Racing is managed by Stephen Watson and Jake Holliday, while crew chief Josh Watson is responsible for race preparation.\u00a0 The team has already supported several riders at the TT, including Dominic Herbertson and most recently Julian Trummer.<\/p>\n<p>Team Principal Stephen Watson expressed his delight at the team&#8217;s return:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter our break in 2024, we are thrilled to be back in the paddock on a permanent basis.\u00a0 With Marcus Simpson on our Honda Fireblade in the Superstock TT, Superbike TT and Senior TT, we are looking forward to two exciting years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom our first meeting with Marcus, we realized that we were on the same wavelength.\u00a0 It just made sense to work together.\u00a0 We want to offer him the best possible environment to take the next step in his career.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Extensive racing season planned<\/h3>\n<p>Before the start of the TT, the team will travel to Spain for testing in March.\u00a0 In addition to the races on the Isle of Man, Simpson will take part in several other road races, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>North West 200<\/li>\n<li>Tandragee 100<\/li>\n<li>Southern 100<\/li>\n<li>Armoy Road Races<\/li>\n<li>Macau Grand Prix<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As well as competing in the 1000cc classes, he will also take part in the Metzeler\/Entire Cover Insurance Supertwin TT, where he will ride a John Cuff Electrical <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/en\/tag\/kawasaki-en-2\/\" target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Kawasaki\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"14274\">Kawasaki<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1030\" height=\"579\" src=\"https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/MarcusSimpson-1030x579.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-152240\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/MarcusSimpson-1030x579.jpg 1030w, https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/MarcusSimpson-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/MarcusSimpson-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/MarcusSimpson-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/MarcusSimpson-450x253.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/MarcusSimpson-780x439.jpg 780w, https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/MarcusSimpson-1600x900.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/www.motorcycles.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/MarcusSimpson.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1030px) 100vw, 1030px\" \/><figcaption><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>[amazon bestseller=&#8221;Isle of Man TT Shirt&#8221;
