Honda triumphs: experience and efficiency prove decisive<\/h3>\n

Honda HRC achieved another historic success at the 46th edition of the Suzuka 8 Hours. Record winner Takumi Takahashi claimed his seventh personal victory together with MotoGP star Johann Zarco. Despite two safety car phases in the final stages, Honda defended its lead and crossed the finish line as the winner after 217 laps with the CBR1000RR-R. Efficiency during pit stops played a decisive role: while Yamaha had to refuel eight times, Honda managed with seven stops and was thus able to maintain its narrow lead.<\/p>\n

Yamaha: Strong performance, but fuel consumption prevents victory<\/h3>\n

The Yamaha Racing Team with Jack Miller, Andrea Locatelli, and Katsuyuki Nakasuga put on an impressive performance. Andrea Locatelli set a new race lap record on his Suzuka debut: with a time of 2:06.604 minutes, he beat Jonathan Rea’s previous record from 2019 by around two tenths of a second. The Yamaha YZF-R1 was the fastest bike on the grid, but had to make one more pit stop than Honda due to its higher fuel consumption. Despite all their efforts, they were 34.243 seconds short of victory in the end. Locatelli and Miller were nevertheless satisfied and highlighted the team spirit and performance.<\/p>\n

Suzuki: Podium after a difficult season \u2013 SERT team fights back<\/h3>\n

For the Yoshimura SERT Motul team, the race at Suzuka was a hard-fought success. After an early slip by Dan Linfoot, who sent the Suzuki<\/a> GSX-R1000R into the gravel trap, a podium finish initially seemed out of reach. But the team, led by Gregg Black, Dan Linfoot, and Cocoro Atsumi, worked their way back consistently. Linfoot finally brought the Suzuki home in third place, securing important points for the team in the title fight. For the team, it was another podium finish at Suzuka after finishing third last year.<\/p>\n

BMW narrowly misses out on podium \u2013 Strong performance despite setbacks<\/h3>\n

The BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team finished the race in fifth place. Markus Reiterberger, Michael van der Mark, and Steven Odendaal were on course for a podium finish at times, but a technical defect threw the trio back. Despite the setback, the team travels to the season finale at Le Castellet just one point behind the overall leaders, keeping their title hopes alive. Particular praise was given to van der Mark, who finished the race despite minor injuries.<\/p>\n

YART Yamaha out \u2013 championship remains exciting<\/h3>\n

For the World Championship-leading YART Yamaha team, the race ended prematurely. Karel Hanika crashed in the final chicane, while engine failure meant the end for Marvin Fritz and Niccol\u00f2 Canepa’s crew. The retirement saw BMW and Kawasaki close the gap in the overall standings. The title fight in the FIM Endurance World Championship therefore remains completely open ahead of the Bol d’Or in Le Castellet (France).<\/p>\n

Superstock class: BMW Team Etoile wins<\/h3>\n

In the Superstock category, the permanent World Championship team Etoile won with Hikari Okubo, Kazuki Watanabe, and Motoharu Ito on BMW. Second place went to Tone Team 4413 EVA (BMW), with the Aprilia team Revo M2 finishing third.<\/p>\n
