Yamaha recalls the Tracer 9 GT because the throttle grip could break. However, this can only occur in a very few exceptional cases.
Strictly speaking, it would be possible that the throttle grip could break if one tries to pick up a fallen machine by pulling on the throttle grip. So first the motorcycle would have to fall over and then one would have to try to put the motorcycle up again with only one hand. In this case, however, it would be possible that the throttle grip could be damaged.
The culprit is a too large tolerance of the throttle grip casing in the housing. If the throttle is more difficult to operate after picking up the motorcycle, the throttle grip could be damaged.
Models manufactured between February 15 and July 08, 2021 are affected. The recall originates in the Americas, but since motorcycles are usually manufactured in a plant for the global market, other markets could also be affected.
