The 500RR from Chinese manufacturer Moxiao Motor could look familiar to many at first glance. The small sports motorcycle is extremely similar to the Ducati 959 Panigale, including the single-sided swingarm.
Weak in performance
However, the 500RR can’t really keep up with the original in terms of performance. 47.5 PS is produced by the 471 cc two-cylinder at 8,500 rpm. The maximum torque of 43 Nm is reached at 7,000 rpm. The engine comes from Loncin and is originally based on a two-cylinder from Honda.
According to the manufacturer, the top speed is 165 km/h. Acceleration from 0 to 100 is given with 6.1 seconds. The weight is 169 kg.
Big on looks
An upside-down fork operates at the front, while at the rear the single-sided swingarm is damped by a side and horizontal mounted shock absorber. At the front, the 500RR was equipped with two 320 brake discs and radial-mounted calipers. ABS is also present.
The tire dimensions complete the optical illusion of a large superbike. Tires of size 120/70 were mounted in the front and 190/50 in the rear.
Consumption is stated at 4.5 liters per 100 km.
