MotoGP – Thailand Grand Prix

MotoGP in Thailand – Race in Buriram
At the end of February, MotoGP travels to Thailand. The event takes place at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, around 410 kilometers northeast of Bangkok.
The modern circuit was designed by German architect Hermann Tilke and opened in 2014. It has been a permanent fixture on the MotoGP calendar since 2018. The typically hot and humid Southeast Asian climate regularly creates demanding conditions for both riders and machinery.
The track measures 4.55 kilometers and features twelve corners. Its 1,000-meter straight provides good overtaking opportunities. The spacious grandstands can accommodate up to 100,000 spectators and offer wide views across several sections of the circuit. Besides MotoGP, the venue is also known from the Superbike World Championship, which first raced here in 2015.
All three classes compete during the race weekend. In addition to the MotoGP Grand Prix on Sunday, the 13-lap Sprint race takes place on Saturday. The Moto3 and Moto2 races are also held on Sunday.
