In 2024, Honda is expanding its range of supersport motorcycles with the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition.  This model is characterized by its matt Pearl Morion Black paint finish, which is complemented by numerous carbon fibre components such as fairing parts, aero winglets and covers for the front and rear wheels.  Production is limited to 300 units worldwide, with each motorcycle identified by a special badge on the airbox cover.  The price for this motorcycle is 32,100 euros, plus 590 euros for delivery.

Specifications and performance

With an output of 218 hp (160 kW, 215 hp) and a weight of 200 kg, including all operating fluids, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition positions itself as one of the most powerful production motorcycles.  The top speed is specified at 299 km/h.  In addition to its impressive power, the motorcycle is characterized by its advanced technology, which improves both acceleration and performance.

Engine and exhaust

The further development of the engine includes a revised cylinder head, adapted compression ratios, valve timing and springs, an optimized crankshaft and connecting rods as well as a finely stepped gearbox.  The Throttle by Wire system has been expanded to include two throttle valve actuators, and the integration of a temperature-dependent rev limiter and an Akrapovic 4-2-1 titanium exhaust improves overall performance.  Noise emissions have been reduced to a stationary noise level of 96 dB(A) and a driving noise level of 75 dB(A), meaning that the motorcycle complies with the Euro 5+ emissions standard.

Chassis and electronics

The adjustments to the frame improve steering precision and traction.  The latest generation of Öhlins Smart Electronic Control (S-EC) suspension elements and Brembo Stylema R four-piston calipers offer outstanding riding dynamics.  The aero winglets have been modified to reduce the yaw moment by 10%, which optimizes handling characteristics in fast bends.  An adjustment of the seating position promises additional comfort and control.

Assistance systems and safety features

The CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition is equipped with the latest technology, including cornering ABS with a special race setting, a lithium-ion battery, a Bosch 6-axis sensor box and customizable rider assistance programs.  These include settings for power output, traction control, engine braking as well as wheelie and launch control.  The motorcycle also features an adjustable quickshifter, an RC213V-S-style Unit ProLink swingarm and a HESD rod steering damper.  Other safety features include the emergency brake signal function, which is integrated into the indicators, and the Smartkey system.

Summary

The limited edition CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Carbon Edition from Honda for 2024 combines advanced technologies with outstanding performance.  Thanks to the use of carbon fiber components and the comprehensive equipment with the latest assistance systems, the motorcycle offers a high level of exclusivity and performance.  With its limited edition and focus on technical innovation, this motorcycle represents a special option for enthusiasts in the supersports segment.
