Triumph Motorcycles is giving its famous Bonnevilles a new, eye-catching outfit.  In 2024, eight models of the Modern Classics will be presented with a new kind of paint job in the so-called “Stealth Edition”.  But anyone who now thinks the whole thing is only meant to last forever is mistaken – the edition is only available for one year.

Innovative painting process

The spectacular paint job, developed by Triumph’s paint team, features unique designs on the bikes’ tanks.  The paint application begins with a mirror-like layer of “Silver Ice,” followed by an artfully applied “Sapphire Black” graphite gradient.  Finally, a multi-layer translucent lacquer is applied, adding depth and elegance.

What is particularly striking is that the paint changes its hues depending on the incidence of light and the viewing angle.  Each machine is thus unique.

The models at a glance

  • Bonneville Speedmaster in red: This reinterpreted model of the Triumph family shines in an intense red that underlines the Speedmaster’s poise and confidence in the sunlight. Its 1200cc Bonneville engine offers both torque and power, and does so over a wide rpm range.  Add to that the high-quality 47mm Showa cartridge forks and adjustable monoshock rear suspension, which should guarantee exceptional handling and comfort both with and without a passenger.
  • Bonneville Bobber in purple: The Bonneville Bobber features a pared-down design to emphasize its pure character. The deep, vibrant purple color immediately catches the eye.  With a torque of 106 Nm at 4,000 rpm and a 16-inch front rim, it not only demonstrates a powerful look, but also impressive performance.
  • Bonneville T100 in blue: This model stands for accessibility and easy handling, but without compromising on performance. With its 900cc Bonneville engine delivering 65 hp at 7,400 rpm and a maximum torque of 80 Nm at 3,750 rpm, it offers responsive performance at both low and high rpm.  State-of-the-art ABS and traction control systems further enhance safety and riding enjoyment.
  • Bonneville T120 in blue: The Bonneville T120 is an eye-catcher not only because of its iconic design. This vibrant blue paint job gives it a contemporary, individual touch.  Its 1200cc engine provides high torque and powerful performance that extends across the entire rev band.  Technical highlights like the 41mm cartridge forks and Twin-Brembo front brake calipers with ABS round out the overall package.
  • Bonneville T120 Black: This model stands out from the rest with its matte silver finish. It combines the dark and mysterious side of the Bonneville T120 Black with a range of high-end black details, from the rims to the exhausts.  With a torquey 1200cc engine, it’s perfect for both relaxed Sunday rides and the daily commute.
  • Speed Twin 1200 in red: This model, which carries the timeless Bonneville DNA, inspires with a lively candy red. In addition to its looks, it impresses with ergonomic features, rider-oriented geometry and high-quality suspensions that promise agile and intuitive handling.  The 1200cc engine delivers an impressive 100hp at 7,250 rpm.
  • Speed Twin 900 in Green: This model shines in a deep green reminiscent of the legendary British Racing Green. With its 900cc Bonneville engine, it offers both an exciting and comfortable riding experience.  Other highlights include Brembo front brakes, two riding modes, ABS and switchable traction control.
  • Scrambler 900 in Orange: The Scrambler 900 is known for her individual style and rugged looks, which are now enhanced by a deep orange color. It offers high torque output and ride-by-wire throttle to ensure excellent control and riding dynamics.  With a unique chassis that offers a comfortable riding position, it is well equipped for both light off-road trails and urban riding.
  • Each of these models, in its own way, showcases Triumph’s craftsmanship and technical expertise.

Statement from Triumph’s CCO

Paul Stroud, Triumph Motorcycles’ Chief Commercial Officer, expressed his excitement, ” The Stealth Editions are simply stunning, and a brilliant demonstration of the skill and innovation of our paint team. It is a challenging, hand-crafted technique that gives each motorcycle a sophisticated and unique finish. For fans of our Bonnevilles, these Stealth Editions will be hard to resist.”

Availability and price

Available from February 2024, the Stealth Edition Bonneville T100, Speed Twin 900 and Scrambler 900 are priced at around 600 euros (600 pounds and 750 dollars respectively) over the standard model.  For the Speed Twin 1200, Bobber and Speedmaster, it’s about 800 euros (800 pounds and 800 dollars, respectively).
