Design elements
The tank of the Special Edition bears Presley’s signature and a golden Elvis lettering reminiscent of the stage installation of the television performance. The Blitz logo with the letters TCB (“Taking Care of Business”) can be found on the front mudguard and reflects Elvis’ work ethic. These details were also used on the necklaces of his “Memphis Mafia”.
The Carnival Red of the bike comes from a custom Bonneville designed by J Daar in 2023 for the benefit of the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation. The tank stripes in aluminum silver and the hand-painted gold lines on the mudguards complete the design. Chrome-plated parts such as the twin pipe exhaust in “Peashooter” style are also part of the look.
Limited edition and special features
The Special Edition is limited to 925 units and each motorcycle has a numbered handlebar clamp with a laser-engraved Elvis Presley signature. Each comes with a Sony gold record in an exclusive sleeve and a certificate of authenticity signed by TRIUMPH CEO Nick Bloor and Jamie Salter, founder of ABG and Elvis Presley Enterprises.
Paul Stroud, TRIUMPH’s Chief Commercial Officer, says: “The customer feedback on J Daar’s custom Bonneville, which raised so much money for charity earlier this year, has been incredible. The same goes for the response to our search for the original ‘Memphis Mafia’ Bonnevilles. Given this level of interest, we are confident that our customers will be very interested in our tribute to the best-selling solo artist in history.”
Historical connection to Elvis Presley
Elvis Presley first came into contact with TRIUMPH motorcycles in 1965 when he tried out a TRIUMPH T120 Bonneville owned by his friend Jerry Schilling. Impressed by the machine, he ordered nine TRIUMPHs for his “Memphis Mafia”, which were delivered on the same day. Technology and performance
The Bonneville T120 Elvis Presley Limited Edition features analog dual instruments with an integrated multifunction LCD display. The 1200 cc parallel twin engine delivers a torque of 105 Nm at 3,500 rpm and a peak output of 80 hp (79 hp, 59 kW) at 6,550 rpm. The liquid cooling system ensures that the engine complies with EURO 5 standards and operates efficiently.
Handling and safety features
The T120 offers agile and predictable handling, a tuned chassis and a comfortable seating position. With a seat height of 790 mm and a double seat, it is also suitable for longer journeys. The latest generation ABS with two-piston Brembo brake callipers and 310 mm discs ensures good braking performance. The switchable traction control and the “Rain” and “Road” riding modes are also included.
