The Trident Triple Tribute Special Edition from Triumph Motorcycles is returning for the 2025 season – inspired by the legendary racing motorcycle “Slippery Sam”, which won the Tourist Trophy (TT) on the Isle of Man five times in a row in the 1970s.  Following the debut of the limited-edition special model in 2024, a visually revised new edition with a fresh design, enhanced technical features and an identical engine base now follows.

Visual homage with a sporty attitude

The 2025 version of the special model appears for the first time in the color combination Sapphire Black, Cobalt Blue and Diablo Red. Strikingly painted rims in red as well as a color-coordinated flyscreen and front spoiler set sporty accents.  As with its predecessor, the starting number “67” is emblazoned on the tank and fairing – a direct reference to the historic model “Slippery Sam”.

Other exclusive design elements such as silver engine covers, fork protectors in vehicle color, aluminum footrest brackets and the striking single silencer with stainless steel end cap underline the sporty character of the mid-range naked bike.

Familiar three-cylinder engine with Euro 5+ conformity

Technically, the Triple Tribute is still based on the current Trident 660. Its liquid-cooled in-line three-cylinder engine with a displacement of 660 cm³ delivers a peak output of 81 hp (59.6 kW) at 10,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 64 Nm at 6,250 rpm.  Power delivery is linear, supported by ride-by-wire technology and three riding modes: Rain, Road and – new for 2025 – Sport.

An A2 throttle kit is available for novice riders, which reduces the power output to 48 hp (35 kW) and the torque to 59 Nm.  It can be easily converted back to full power at the dealer.

New riding aids for greater safety

The biggest technical innovations in the 2025 special edition include the standard cornering ABS and lean angle-dependent traction control.  These systems adapt the brake pressure and engine power to the angle of inclination in real time, thereby increasing riding safety on inclines.

Also on board is Triumph Shift Assist, which enables clutch-free upshifting and downshifting, as well as cruise control, which makes longer tours more enjoyable.

Chassis: sporty and comfortable at the same time

The chassis is based on a sturdy tubular steel frame and a 41 mm Showa Big Piston upside-down fork with 120 mm suspension travel.  At the rear is a Showa central shock absorber with adjustable preload and 130 mm travel.  The handling is precise, agile and easy to control – also thanks to the balanced wheelbase of 1,401 mm.

The Michelin Road 5 tires guarantee good grip in all weather conditions.  The brakes are fitted with Nissin twin callipers and 310 mm twin discs at the front and a single-piston calliper and 255 mm disc at the rear – also with cornering ABS.

Ergonomics and suitability for everyday use

Despite its sporty aspirations, the Trident Triple Tribute remains a motorcycle with pronounced suitability for everyday use.  The seat height is 805 mm, the ready-to-ride weight is 190 kg (418.9 lbs) – making the bike easy to control even for smaller riders.

The upright riding position, smooth-running clutch and wide handlebars ensure a relaxed riding experience, both in city traffic and on country roads.

Connectivity and equipment

The Trident is equipped with a TFT color instrument panel, which also supports the My TRIUMPH Connectivity System as standard.  This system makes it easy to integrate your smartphone, music and navigation.  Full LED lighting and an immobilizer in the ignition key round off the equipment.

Variety of accessories and individualization

Triumph offers 32 original accessories for the Trident Triple Tribute – from stylish CNC-milled handlebar end mirrors and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) to luggage solutions, heated grips and extensive safety features such as alarm systems and trackers.  All parts are matched to the model and comply with factory standards.

Price and availability

The Trident Triple Tribute Special Edition will be available from Triumph dealers from the end of May 2025.  The price in Germany is €8,445 (approx. $9,050), in Austria €9,495 (approx. $10,180) – in each case including a four-year manufacturer’s warranty with no mileage limit.

Compared to the standard model, the surcharge is only €150, which is mainly due to the exclusive paintwork and equipment.  The number of units is limited, but Triumph does not specify a specific limit.

Conclusion: Style meets technology in a limited edition

The Trident 660 Triple Tribute Special Edition 2025 combines classic motorsport heritage with modern technology.  With its unmistakable design, extensive equipment and new assistance systems, it offers a strong overall package for lovers of sporty naked bikes – whether newcomers or experienced riders.
