Women Riders World Relay is preparing two major steps for 2026. In addition to a globally usable app for digital baton passing, a completely women-led Legacy Lap at the Tourist Trophy has been announced for the first time.
  • Women-led TT Legacy Lap confirmed for May 2026
  • Global WRWR relay start on January 1, 2026 via the WRWR app
  • Network already covers 94 countries

A global network of motorcyclists is setting new trends in 2026. Women Riders World Relay is continuing its mission to raise the profile of active motorcyclists worldwide. With a new app and a historic moment at next year’s Tourist Trophy, the initiatives are continuing to grow together.

WRWR expands global networking

The WRWR app is available free of charge and is designed to make it easier to connect motorcyclists around the globe. It enables a digital baton handover, which will remain dependent on real-life meetings from January 1, 2026. Smartphones are scanned to document a handover. This is visualized on a world map within the app.

In addition to digital relay tracking, the application offers maintenance reminders, individual and global leaderboards, and challenges. Users can also collect digital trading cards and manage their equipment in a dedicated area. According to WRWR, the app is designed to break down barriers such as lack of time, family commitments, or limited riding experience.

Women lead a Legacy Lap at the Tourist Trophy for the first time

A historic moment is coming to the Isle of Man TT course in 2026. For the first time in the racing event’s more than 100-year history, a women-led Legacy Lap will take place. The race will be held in May 2026 over the full course and will be contested by WRWR members and other well-known personalities from the scene.

WRWR’s Isle of Man ambassador Lisa Brain was instrumental in obtaining approval for this race. The organizers see it as a significant step forward for the visibility of female riders in road racing.

“The TT course itself is legendary – but to ride alongside legendary women, on a legendary course, broadcast and watched by millions of people worldwide… that is something really special and is sure to burn rubber marks in the history books.”

Connection, challenge, and change

WRWR continues to pursue the three fundamental ideas on which the movement was built: connection, challenge, and change. The organization reports that since its founding, it has brought together tens of thousands of riders and opened up new perspectives for motorcyclists. The network, which is now active in 94 countries, is set to be expanded further.

WRWR also sees these three guiding principles united in the Legacy Lap.

“WRWR is about connection, challenges, and change. The TT Legacy Lap combines all three in a single moment and offers a powerful, high-visibility statement in front of the global road racing audience. We’re honoring the past, claiming our place in the present, and carving out a new and exciting future for the next generation of women riders.”

Outlook and opportunities for partners

Partners and supporters are currently being sought for the women-led Legacy Lap 2026. According to WRWR, this will enable brands and teams to send a visible signal about the presence of female riders in motorsport.

In addition, the organization is calling for the activities surrounding the app to be promoted and for support for the 2026 global relay.
