Honda introduced the NT1100, a new touring machine powered by the Africa Twin engine.

Honda describes the NT1100 as comfortable, agile, fun and functional. The seating position is tailored for touring and the fairing is said to provide effective protection.

The 1,084 cc parallel twin produces 102 PS (75 kW) at 7,250 rpm and 104 Nm at 6,250 rpm.

Equipment of the NT1100

The windshield is adjustable in height and angle of attack in five stages. The adjustment range covers 164 mm.  Additional wind deflectors are intended to provide additional protection from the airstream. The seat height is 820 mm.

LED technology is used all around for the lighting. The NT1100 is equipped with daytime running lights, self-resetting turn signals and a tail light with emergency brake signal function.

The 6.5-inch TFT touchscreen offers three different on-screen displays with different focuses. Numeric information and mode indications are displayed under the Gold setting. Silver shows a focus on the speedometer and tachometer, and Bronze focuses only on the tachometer. It comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Standard features include heated grips, panniers, a center stand and cruise control.

To maximize the luggage volume of the side cases, the course of the rear muffler was designed to be very flat. The removable side cases hold 33 and 32 liters. They measure 901 mm at the widest point (overall width of the motorcycle with the panniers fitted).

Chassis

Like the engine, the frame comes from the Africa Twin CRF1100L. The 43mm upside-down fork is from Showa, adjustable for spring preload and rebound damping, and offers 150 mm of travel. The Showa shock offers the same travel and is hydraulically adjustable in spring preload via a handwheel.

The wheelbase is 1,535 mm. Tire size is 120/70 17-inch front and 180/55 17-inch rear. Ground clearance is listed at 175 mm.

DCT

The NT1100 is offered in two variants. The DCT variant features Honda’s dual-clutch transmission that automatically changes gears. The metered actuation of the clutch when starting off is also handled by the electronic-hydraulic control system. As a result, there is no longer any need for a clutch lever and it is accordingly not installed. Five adjustment variants are available.

The weight (fully tanked) of the standard version is 238 kg, with DCT it is 10 kg more.

The Honda NT1100 is offered in the color variants Matte Iridium Grey Metallic, Pearl Giare White and Graphite Black.
