New caps with clear identification features
At the heart of the new security strategy is a redesigned screw cap featuring clearly visible original identification marks. The top of the caps has a relief-like texture that creates an optical effect depending on how the light hits it. This design, which is difficult to imitate, is intended to make it much harder for counterfeiters to copy the appearance.
The new caps also feature prominent logos from SCT and MANNOL, as well as the brand claim “Professionals in Lubricants.” Inside the cap is a seal with the words “Made by SCT,” complemented by the familiar SCT logo and the words “Original Quality.”
Uniform design for global recognition
The new screw caps are in a brand-typical silver-gray color, which is already found on the product labels—for example, on the viscosity information or in graphic elements such as the new vehicle sketches. The new security feature thus blends harmoniously into the existing design without compromising functionality. The clear recognizability is intended to enable both trading partners and end customers to easily verify authenticity.
Gradual global introduction
The new screw caps are being introduced immediately and will be gradually extended to all relevant product areas. These include engine oils, transmission oils, industrial oils, and operating and service fluids. The new caps will be used for 1, 4, and 5-liter containers.
As part of the changeover, clear inspection criteria will be established for specialist retailers when goods are received and products are dispensed. At the same time, end customers will benefit from improved guidance when making purchases.
