The recently somewhat difficult relationship between Maverick Vinales and Yamaha has led to the contract being terminated early, Yamaha has now officially confirmed. Thus, the cooperation ends at the end of the season, after five years together.
Actually, a cooperation was also planned for 2022. There had already been difficulties for some time. The mood in the team was not particularly good. Before the GP in Barcelona, the crew chief was changed and the low point was reached when Vinales only finished last at the Sachsenring.
Vinales asked for a termination of the contract. He describes the current races as a “nightmare”.
