After a turbulent start to their joint team history in 2025, 2026 will be all about continuity for Peter Hickman and Davey Todd. Both riders will once again line up as teammates, continuing their partnership in both the British Superbike Championship and international road racing events.
8Ten Racing continues collaboration
The partnership between Peter Hickman and Davey Todd began under difficult circumstances in the 2025 season. Following FHO Racing’s withdrawal from parts of its program, the jointly managed 8Ten Racing Team was formed at short notice and under considerable time pressure. Some of the motorcycles were only completed immediately before race weekends, while the sponsorship environment continued to evolve over the course of the season.
Despite these circumstances, the project showed potential early on. Competitive times were achieved right from the start of the season, even though preparation time was extremely limited.
Official BMW Motorrad Team in BSB and Road Racing
A much more stable starting position has now been created for 2026. The 8Ten Racing Team will act as the official BMW Motorrad racing team and continue to compete on the BMW M 1000 RR. The commitment covers both the British Superbike Championship and international road races such as the Isle of Man TT and the North West 200.
For BMW, this means a combined presence with two experienced and successful road racing specialists who will also compete in the highly competitive BSB environment.
Peter Hickman focuses on consistency after injuries
For Hickman, 2026 will also be marked by a return to a consistently stable season. After a promising start in 2025, his campaign was slowed down by injuries at the Tourist Trophy. It was there that he had felt particularly competitive in training.
In his statement, Hickman nevertheless looks ahead with optimism and emphasizes the importance of extensive testing before the first race of the season. The renewed support from BMW and the status as an official team are set to play an important role in this.
Davey Todd continues at the highest level of road racing
In contrast, Todd’s 2025 season was free of injury-related setbacks. The Briton continued to be one of the fastest riders on public roads. Victories at the Tourist Trophy in the Superbike race, two wins at the North West 200, and triumph at the Macau Grand Prix underlined his strong form.
In 2026, Todd is set to confirm these achievements in a now much better prepared environment.
Outlook for the 2026 season
With more preparation time, stable structures, and official factory support, Hickman and Todd are entering the coming season with clear ambitions. After an improvised debut year, 2026 should show the true sporting potential of the 8Ten Racing project.
