Fantic launches Stealth 500 for model year 2026

With the Stealth 500, Fantic is expanding its naked bike range with an A2-compatible mid-range model. Despite ongoing restructuring, the Italian manufacturer is continuing to push ahead with its product offensive.
  • 44 hp (32.4 kW) single-cylinder engine with 463 cm³
  • 147 kg dry weight (324 lbs)
  • Market launch in the first quarter of 2026

Following the introduction of the Stealth 125, the next step in the series is now underway. The new Stealth 500 is positioned as a lightweight roadster model with modern electronics and A2 compliance. Visually, the motorcycle is clearly based on its smaller sister, while technically it uses proven components from the existing Fantic portfolio.

Single-cylinder drive from our own modular system

At the heart of the Stealth 500 is the liquid-cooled Minarelli MM460 single-cylinder engine with a displacement of 463 cm³. The engine complies with the Euro 5+ standard and is designed as standard for the A2 driver’s license. Maximum power is 44 hp (32.4 kW) at 8,000 rpm, and maximum torque is 42 Nm (31.0 lb-ft) at 7,000 rpm.

Power is transmitted via a six-speed gearbox in conjunction with an anti-hopping clutch. An electronic ride-by-wire system forms the basis for four selectable riding modes: Street, Rain, Track, and Custom. These control the engine characteristics as well as the intervention of traction control and cornering ABS.

Chassis, brakes, and weight

A key development goal for the Stealth 500 was to keep the weight as low as possible. According to the manufacturer, the motorcycle weighs 147 kg (324 lbs) dry. Ready to ride with a full 12-liter tank, it should weigh around 156 kg (344 lbs). This positions the Fantic model as one of the lightest motorcycles in its class.

The frame consists of a steel trellis main frame with a bolted rear frame. The construction is complemented by aluminum side panels and a reinforced aluminum swing arm. The Fantic FRS suspension elements consist of a 41 mm upside-down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear with adjustable preload.

The Stealth 500 is braked by a 320 mm disc and radially mounted four-piston caliper at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. The standard cornering ABS operates via two channels and is supported by an inertial measurement unit. The motorcycle is fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires on 17-inch aluminum rims.

Features and electronics

Standard equipment includes a 5-inch TFT color display with Bluetooth connectivity. All lighting functions, including the turn signals, are LED. Electronic safety features include traction control and cornering ABS, the intensity of which can be adjusted via the riding modes.

Colors, market launch, and price

The Stealth 500 will be available in three colors. In addition to Racing White and Acid Yellow, familiar from the 125 series, a red and yellow version will also be available. The market launch is planned for the first quarter of 2026.

No official price has been announced yet. However, based on current information, the retail price is expected to be around €7,000 (approximately $7,600). This figure is a non-binding estimate and has not yet been confirmed by Fantic.

Classification in the current corporate situation

The market launch comes at a time of upheaval at Fantic Motor. According to reports, the company was facing liabilities of over €130 million (approximately $141 million) in 2025. Years of strong growth were followed by a period of consolidation.

Costantino Sambuy, CEO since May 2025, commented on the manufacturer’s strategic realignment as follows:

” As a first step, we focused on re-establishing a solid process to restore the company’s economic and financial balance. We are well advanced in approving the 2026–2030 industrial plan, which represents the foundation of Fantic’s new course.”

In the same announcement, Fantic also stated that the reduction of existing delivery backlogs should be completed by the end of the year. Demand for the brand’s models is expected to remain high.

What does this mean for me as a motorcyclist?

The Stealth 500 is a lightweight, manageable roadster model that is particularly interesting for A2 riders or those switching from other bikes. Its low weight, combined with modern electronics such as riding modes, traction control, and cornering ABS, is designed to enable controllable and predictable handling without appearing technically overloaded. At the same time, the single-cylinder engine offers sufficient power for everyday use, country road riding, and occasional sporty riding. Anyone looking for a modern naked bike that is easy to handle and focuses on lightweight construction rather than maximum power will find this concept a practical and functional alternative in the mid-displacement segment.

New AI vehicle architecture aims to further develop electric motorcycles via software

In the future, electric motorcycles may no longer be developed solely through new motors or batteries, but primarily through software and artificial intelligence. An Indian manufacturer is introducing a new vehicle architecture for this purpose, which is intended to enable several types of motorcycles and e-scooters to be built on a common technical basis.
