- Four-year warranty now applies regardless of displacement across all street segments
- Warranty is tied to the motorcycle and transfers with resale
- European customers additionally benefit from SARA roadside assistance
Austrian manufacturer KTM is significantly expanding its warranty coverage. The existing Premium Manufacturer Warranty with a four-year duration now applies to all street-legal motorcycles from model year 2025 onwards. Previously, this extended coverage was only available for selected models. That restriction is now a thing of the past: regardless of displacement and segment, buyers of a new KTM street motorcycle from model year 2025 can benefit from the four-year warranty.
Six Segments, One Warranty Promise
The extended Premium Manufacturer Warranty covers all street-legal KTM motorcycles in the Adventure, Dual Sport, Naked, Supersport, Sports Tourer, and Supermoto segments. For the first time, models that were not included when the Premium Manufacturer Warranty was originally introduced now also fall under the four-year coverage.
However, motorcycles designed exclusively for use on the racetrack or closed competition circuits are not included. KTM provides the complete list of all eligible models on its website in the Premium Manufacturer Warranty section.
Warranty Follows the Motorcycle, Not the Rider
A key feature of the Premium Manufacturer Warranty is that it is tied to the vehicle rather than the original owner. Anyone purchasing a used KTM that is still within the warranty period automatically inherits the remaining coverage. This should have a positive impact on resale value, as subsequent owners also benefit from the remaining warranty period.
The prerequisite for continuous coverage over the full four years is adherence to the official maintenance schedule. All prescribed services must be carried out at an authorized KTM dealer.
SARA Roadside Assistance as an Additional Benefit in Europe
For customers in eligible European markets, there is an additional advantage: Service Activated Roadside Assistance, or SARA for short. This is a roadside assistance service that is renewed with each annual service at an authorized KTM dealer for up to twelve months or until the next scheduled service. There are no additional costs involved. So anyone who regularly gets their motorcycle serviced is not only covered by the warranty but also has Europe-wide support in the event of a breakdown.
KTM Backs Its Entire Lineup
Spela Kovacic, VP Global Customer Service at KTM, commented on the expansion: “We continuously develop and strengthen our warranty to firmly stand behind our products and offer our customers real peace of mind.” Riders simply need to follow the recommended service plan to be able to count on comprehensive coverage in the event of an issue. The expansion underscores KTM’s confidence in the entire street model range and extends a benefit that was previously only available for selected models.
What This Means for Motorcyclists
Anyone opting for a new KTM street motorcycle from model year 2025 automatically gets four years of warranty coverage at no extra charge. It makes no difference whether you choose a smaller Dual Sport, a Naked Bike, or a large Adventure model. The only condition: regular maintenance intervals must be observed at an authorized KTM dealer. Since the warranty is tied to the motorcycle and not the owner, used buyers within the four-year period also benefit from the remaining coverage. Those riding in Europe additionally have SARA roadside assistance at their disposal, which automatically renews with each annual service. In everyday terms, it means: go for regular servicing and not having to worry about the rest.
