From IT specialist to Dakar participant
Falcon, a Tarragona native and trained computer technician, left his job behind to pursue his true passion: enduro racing. As an experienced off-road instructor and motorcycle tour guide, he shared his extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for motorcycles with others. His commitment to the sport led him to found the TwinTrail Racing Team, with which he took part in the 2024 Dakar.
A tragic end to a passionate journey
Falcon, who finished the 2022 race in 68th place in his category, competed again in 2024, full of hope to master the challenge once more. But on the second stage, just 15 kilometers from the finish, the unthinkable happened: Falcon crashed heavily and suffered life-threatening injuries. Despite immediate medical assistance and a transfer by helicopter to a hospital, his condition could not be stabilized. He later died as a result of the neurological damage caused by the cardiac arrest during his fall.
A legacy that remains
Carles Falcon will be remembered as a person who enriched the lives of others with his smile and positive energy. His family and friends remember him as someone who taught everyone about motorcycling and how to enjoy it. His teammate Isaac Feliu, who attempted a comeback after a serious crash of his own in 2022, withdrew from the race after his friend’s tragic accident.
The Dakar Rally: a race full of challenges
The Dakar Rally, a traditional long-distance race that is held in different categories, once again attracted participants from all over the world this year. The 46th edition started in western Saudi Arabia and will finish on the Red Sea after around 7900 kilometers. This race is an enormous challenge for every participant, but for Falcon it was a passion for which he gave his all.
A silent farewell
Falcon’s family and team ask that their privacy be respected during the upcoming memorial services. The motorsport community and all who knew Falcon will remember him as an inspirational and passionate motorcyclist.
