New data acquisition system for use on the racetrack
With TrackTribe, Brembo introduces a system consisting of a compact onboard device with a six-axis IMU, integrated GPS, and a separate brake sensor. The unit draws its power directly from the motorcycle battery and communicates with a smartphone or tablet app via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. According to the manufacturer, installation is carried out exclusively by authorized dealers to ensure correct calibration and safety-relevant installation in the braking system.
The app can be used to manage motorcycle profiles, settings, and route data. The hardware records parameters such as brake pressure, acceleration, speed, and lean angle. According to Brembo’s Performance Division, the algorithms are based on experience gained in international racing and are designed to present the recorded values in an understandable way.
Analysis tools for sessions and lap comparisons
The “On Track” function activates automatic lap recording. As soon as the start-finish signal is detected, lap times, best times, and time differences are recorded. During the drive, the smartphone can be used as a live dashboard.
All sessions are archived in the “Sessions” area. There, laps can be compared graphically, split times analyzed, and braking zones visualized. A replay function allows individual laps to be displayed in order to identify differences in riding style. If a video is imported from an action cam, the material can be synchronized with the telemetry data. To do this, simply mark the first crossing point of the start-finish line after uploading.
The system also supports ANT+ for integrating a heart rate sensor. The additional data can be evaluated together with laps and video recordings.
Community features for comparison with other drivers
According to the manufacturer, TrackTribe focuses strongly on the community aspect. Drivers should be able to compare laps with each other, use rankings on available tracks, and share content. The platform is therefore not only aimed at ambitious riders, but also at those who want to document their sessions or compare them with friends.
According to Brembo, the system is currently compatible with around 150 race tracks worldwide, including Silverstone. The track information was collected in collaboration with test and professional riders. If a track is missing, the manufacturer can be asked whether integration is possible.
Availability, safety, and usage restrictions
TrackTribe was first presented at EICMA 2025 and is expected to be available in Italy, Germany, England, Spain, France, and the USA from spring 2026. The package will be available at a fixed hardware price plus an app subscription. Specific prices are not yet available.
The system is designed exclusively for use on racetracks. Brembo recommends deactivating the GPS module when the motorcycle is used in road traffic. According to the manufacturer, data collection is automatically stopped as soon as the rider is no longer on a circuit.
