- Electric motor with 23 kW (31 hp) peak power and 395 Nm at the rear wheel
- Up to 150 kilometers range in city traffic at only 145 kg (320 lbs) weight
- Starting at €9,990 (approximately $11,790), leasing from €199 (approximately $235) per month
DAB Motors is one of the newer names in the motorcycle industry. Founded in 2018 in Bordeaux, France, the company delivered its first custom motorcycle just a year later. In 2021, the first electric prototype called Concept-E followed, setting the direction for the brand’s future. In 2023, Peugeot Motocycles invested in DAB Motors, and production has since taken place at the Peugeot Beaulieu-Mandeure facility. In 2024, the first production version arrived as the DAB 1α (Alpha), limited to 400 units worldwide at a price of €14,900 (approximately $17,580). Now the standard DAB 1 marks the step toward broader availability.

More Information
Five Riding Modes Including Reverse
Five riding modes are available: Eco for maximum range, Street for everyday riding, Sport for more dynamic riding, and Nitrous as the most powerful mode. Additionally, there is a Reverse mode that enables slow backward movement for maneuvering. Top speed is 120 km/h.
7.1 kWh Battery for Up to 150 Kilometers Range
The heart of the electric system is a lithium-ion battery pack with a maximum capacity of 7.1 kWh and a nominal capacity of 6.2 kWh. The operating voltage is 72 volts, with an additional 12-volt auxiliary battery powering the onboard electronics. In pure city traffic, the DAB 1 is said to achieve up to 150 kilometers of range, while mixed riding according to the WMTC cycle reportedly yields 120 kilometers. During riding, the system continuously recovers energy through regenerative braking.
The integrated 2,000-watt charger eliminates the need for an external charging unit. Only a compact cable is required, which fits in the machine’s 3.4-liter storage compartment. Charging is possible at a standard household outlet (230 volts) or at a Type 2 charging station. According to the manufacturer, charging from 20 to 100 percent takes approximately 3 hours, from 50 to 100 percent about 1.5 hours. A full charge from 0 to 100 percent is said to take 3.5 to 4 hours.

Supermoto Chassis with KYB and Brembo
Despite its modern overall concept, the DAB 1 features a conventionally designed chassis in supermoto style. The foundation is a steel tube double-cradle frame with a steel trellis subframe. The rear swingarm is made of cast aluminum. Up front, a 46-millimeter USD fork from Kayaba provides 100 millimeters of travel, while the rear features a central shock absorber with 100 millimeters of travel and adjustable preload.
The braking system comes from Brembo: a radial four-piston caliper with a 320-millimeter floating disc at the front, and a single-piston caliper with a 240-millimeter disc at the rear. Both brakes are operated via hand levers and are each ABS-monitored. The ABS system comes from Peugeot Motocycles and operates as dual ABS on both wheels. The wire-spoke wheels carry tires in 120/70 R 17 front and 150/60 R 17 rear sizes.
Compact Dimensions and Adjustable Seat Height
The DAB 1 weighs 145 kg (320 lbs) according to the manufacturer, with a maximum gross weight of 288 kg (635 lbs). At 2,010 millimeters in length, 821 millimeters in width, and 1,164 millimeters in height, the machine is compact. The seat height can be adjusted between 800 and 880 millimeters with an optional Seat Height Kit. The seat accommodates both rider and passenger.

LED Lighting, PIN Start, and Quad Lock as Standard
In terms of equipment, the DAB 1 features contemporary technology. Full LED lighting and a compact LCD display come as standard. Instead of a conventional ignition lock, the machine starts keylessly via PIN code. A CNC-machined charging mount for smartphones, developed in collaboration with Quad Lock, is integrated directly into the design and enables navigation and connectivity while riding. The delivery package also includes a charging cable and a special Bosch tool box.
Accessories and Customization
DAB Motors markets the DAB 1 as the most extensively customizable electric motorcycle in its class, pointing to ten years of experience building bespoke motorcycles. Colors and various equipment options can be configured through an online configurator. Dedicated accessories include a tubular luggage rack for the rear, a lockable top case, and a GPS tracker.
Beyond the regular palette, the DAB 1 has already attracted attention: custom one-offs were created for artists such as J Balvin, FKA Twigs, and Rosalía based on the platform. The design concept has been recognized with four design awards to date, including a Red Dot Design Award.
Price, Availability, and Delivery
Since late February 2026, DAB Motors has been accepting orders for the standard DAB 1. The purchase price starts at €9,990 (approximately $11,790) including 20 percent VAT, before any national environmental incentives. Alternatively, the manufacturer offers leasing in France at €199 (approximately $235) per month. For the first 50 orders in Europe, DAB Motors promises free home delivery.
Availability extends across the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates. Delivery to the USA or most Asian countries is currently not possible. DAB Motors recommends that interested parties outside these markets check their respective national registration and import regulations in advance. Service is to be handled through mobile service technicians or international DAB Motors partners.
