The new Ducati Multistrada V2 is an extensively revised version of the popular mid-range crossover series.  With its focus on low weight, easy handling and a comfortable riding experience, it is aimed in particular at fans of two-cylinder engines.

Reduced weight for better driving dynamics

Thanks to targeted weight reductions, the new Multistrada V2 weighs just 199 kg ready to ride without fuel.  This is 18 kg less than its predecessor, which has a positive effect on maneuverability, especially at low speeds.  The Multistrada V2 S weighs slightly more at 202 kg, but offers semi-active Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS).

The weight saving is achieved by the new Ducati V2 engine and an aluminum monocoque frame, among other things.  This combination ensures a slimmer design and more control in every riding situation.

Engine: The new Ducati V2

The heart of the new Multistrada V2 is the revised 890 cc two-cylinder engine.  The 90° V-Twin delivers 115 hp (85 kW) at 10,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 92 Nm at 8,250 rpm.

Thanks to variable valve timing (IVT), the engine offers smooth power delivery at low engine speeds and high efficiency.  Over 70% of the maximum torque is available from just 3,500 rpm.  A new second-generation Quick Shift system also enables precise and fast gear changes.

Design: Function meets aesthetics

The look of the Multistrada V2 is clearly inspired by the Multistrada family.  With balanced lines, a shorter rear end and a sporty front section, it combines functionality and style.  Aerodynamic elements such as an adjustable windshield and integrated air deflectors improve comfort at high speeds and direct cool air to the rider’s legs.

New LED headlights with daytime running lights (DRL) give the front end a modern and aggressive appearance, while slim indicators and a revised rear end emphasize the clear lines.

Ergonomics and comfort

The seat of the Multistrada V2 is height-adjustable (830 mm or 850 mm).  Optional seats with 810 mm, 870 mm or, thanks to the DSS system of the S version, even 790 mm are available in the Ducati Performance catalog.  The passenger area has also been optimized to offer more legroom and comfort.

For additional comfort when loaded or in pillion mode, the “Minimum Preload” function allows the seat height to be lowered at the touch of a button.

Electronics: Versatile support

The Multistrada V2 is equipped with a comprehensive electronics package, including

  • Riding modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, Enduro, Wet.
  • Assistance systems: Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Engine Brake Control (EBC).
  • TFT display: A 5-inch color screen offers three info modes (Road, Road Pro, Rally), which display different information depending on the situation.

The S version completes the package with a Ducati multimedia system and the option of integrating a navigation system.

Chassis and brakes

The Multistrada V2 relies on a chassis with Marzocchi fork (45 mm) and Sachs shock absorbers, both with 170 mm travel.  In the S version, the semi-active DSS system is used, which dynamically adapts to the riding conditions.  Brembo brakes with double 320 mm discs at the front and a 265 mm disc at the rear ensure reliable deceleration.

Accessories and availability

The Multistrada V2 is available with a wide range of accessories, including plastic (60 l) or aluminum (76 l) pannier systems, crash bars and a central stand.  For off-road fans, Ducati offers spoked wheels as an option.

The Multistrada V2 is available in two versions:  The basic version in Ducati Red and the S version in Ducati Red or Storm Green.  The market launch is planned for January 2025, also in a throttled 35 kW version for A2 license holders.
