MotoGP Italian Grand Prix 2026 – Mugello
From May 29 to 31, 2026, the MotoGP World Championship returns to Mugello for the eighth round of the season and one of the most emotionally charged weekends on the entire calendar. The Autodromo del Mugello sits roughly 35 kilometers northeast of Florence amid the rolling hills of Tuscany and is widely regarded by riders and fans alike as one of the finest racing circuits in the world.
Circuit and Statistics
The 5.245-kilometer layout winds through the green Mugello valley with 15 corners – nine right-handers and six left-handers. Its defining feature is the 1,141-meter straight between the final corner and the first chicane, where MotoGP machines regularly exceed 350 km/h. The qualifying lap record stands at 1:45.187, set by Fabio Quartararo in 2021. Mugello demands everything from its riders: rapid direction changes, heavy braking zones and blind crests turn every lap into a balancing act between courage and precision.
Mugello as a Travel Destination
Visiting the Grand Prix means combining world-class motorsport with culture and cuisine. Florence, with its Renaissance architecture, the Uffizi Gallery and its iconic cathedral, is just a short drive away. Tuscany also offers renowned wine and olive oil regions, medieval villages like San Gimignano and Siena, and winding country roads that are a motorcyclist’s dream. Camping is available directly at the circuit from Thursday, May 28 through Tuesday, June 2 at no additional cost. The 2025 edition attracted over 156,000 spectators and more than 2,000 campers.
