Rumors of a comeback by Jorge Lorenzo have been around for a while, and most recently he continued to fuel her when he said he could imagine a comeback. Now it is said that talks have already been held with Ducati.
Since the negotiations between Ducati and Andrea Dovizioso turned out to be difficult, Ducati should now look for a replacement. In order to build up pressure on Dovizioso, they are said to have brought Lorenzo’s return into conversation during the negotiations. Dovizioso, who has been runner-up in the past three years, did not allow himself to be put under pressure by this.
He would rather take a year off than sign a bad deal. He believes that the contract does not reflect its value.
Ducati is said to have really had initial discussions with Lorenzo, but it can be assumed that Dovizioso will remain Ducati’s first choice. However, it remains open whether one will agree and if not, whether Lorenzo would really return to MotoGP.
