- Electric enduro with a top speed of up to 100 km/h
- Trailer with a payload of up to 200 kg planned
- Currently still in the prototype and testing stage
Kalashnikov is best known worldwide as an arms manufacturer, but has also been developing vehicles and mobility solutions for several years. With the Izh Enduro, the company is pursuing the goal of creating a robust and as quiet as possible electric motorcycle for use off paved roads. The focus is clearly on functional requirements, not on series production readiness or market availability.

Electric enduro with military origins
The concept was first presented in 2018 at a military trade fair in Moscow, at that time still under the name SM-1. The electric drive is considered particularly advantageous for military applications, as it enables significantly reduced noise levels. This acoustic restraint is intended to allow better camouflage and facilitate operations in sensitive areas.
In December 2025, Kalashnikov presented a further developed version under the name Izh Enduro. According to the manufacturer, this is a new development stage that is still considered a prototype and is currently in an extended test phase.
Drive and driving concept
The IPMSM electric motor is positioned in front of the swing arm, with the final drive being provided by a conventional chain. In the past, the output was stated as 15 kW, which corresponds to around 20 hp or approximately 15 kW. Kalashnikov specifies a top speed of up to 100 km/h.
Unusual for an electric motorcycle is the built-in four-speed transmission with clutch. This solution is intended to enable finer adjustment to different terrain situations, but from today’s perspective it seems rather atypical for electrically powered vehicles. It remains to be seen whether this concept will prove itself in practical use.
Battery, range, and weight
The lithium-ion battery is located centrally in the steel trellis frame to achieve a favorable center of gravity. The manufacturer does not provide specific technical data on the energy storage system. The range is stated as up to 100 kilometers, but this is expressly dependent on operating conditions, terrain, and load.
Kalashnikov quotes a weight of around 100 kg for the motorcycle itself, which would be comparatively low for an electric off-road motorcycle. At the same time, however, there are also specifications for a significantly heavier development stage with a different motor and automatic transmission. This discrepancy has not yet been officially explained and suggests that several technical variants are being tested in parallel.
The specially developed trailer
A central element of the concept is the specially developed trailer. It is designed to transport loads of up to 200 kg. The design uses a swing arm with one shock absorber per wheel to remain stable even off-road. The trailer can be quickly attached and, according to the manufacturer, can be converted for different tasks.
Kalashnikov cites possible areas of application including material transport, logistical tasks in remote regions, and use in enclosed areas such as industrial plants or tourist facilities. Here, too, all information is based on the current state of development and has not yet been verified by series production experience.
Civilian use and unanswered questions
According to the company, a civilian version of the Izh Enduro is still planned. The same applies to the trailer. However, no concrete information on prices, homologation, or a possible market launch is available. The vehicles shown so far are said to still be in the testing phase, after which the technology and design will be finalized.
For the time being, the Kalashnikov Izh Enduro remains an ambitious development project. The combination of electric drive, classic manual transmission, and high payload capacity thanks to the trailer clearly sets it apart from conventional electric motorcycles. Whether this will result in a production-ready vehicle depends largely on the ongoing tests and the group’s further strategic orientation.
