- KessTech brand under the umbrella of RLS 2025 Holding B.V. since January 1, 2026.
- No takeover of the former MEC GmbH and no legal succession
- Operational responsibility lies with the management of Jekill & Hyde for the time being
After weeks of uncertainty, there is now clear information about the future of KessTech for the first time. Information that was initially communicated specifically to Harley Davidson dealers shows how the brand is to be continued after the insolvency of its former company.

Insolvency of MEC GmbH and end of the year
KessTech’s former parent company, MEC GmbH, was recently undergoing insolvency proceedings under its own administration. These proceedings are time-limited and require a viable solution for the company’s continued existence within a fixed period. According to the information available, this period ended on December 31, 2025.
MEC GmbH was liquidated on the effective date. It was not the company itself that was taken over, but only the KessTech brand. This entails a clear legal separation between the old company and the new structure.
New structure under RLS 2025 Holding
Since January 1, 2026, KessTech has been part of RLS 2025 Holding B.V., based in the Netherlands. The Jekill and Hyde Company B.V. is also part of this holding company. It is important to note the distinction: KessTech was not taken over by Jekill & Hyde. Both brands are legally independent companies within the same holding structure.
There is no legal succession of MEC GmbH. To the best of our knowledge, liabilities, current obligations, or warranty claims from the past have not automatically been transferred to the new structure.
Operational responsibility and first steps
Since the beginning of the year, operational responsibility for KessTech has been with the management of Jekill & Hyde. This step is organizational within the holding company and does not constitute a classic company takeover. KessTech will continue to operate as an independent brand for the time being.
One of the first measures is a comprehensive inventory. The aim is to clarify which stocks, technical components, and production resources are actually available. At the same time, logistics structures and a large part of the workforce have been taken over. This is also seen as a signal that the brand will continue to exist.
Temporary standstill in day-to-day business
In the course of the transition, KessTech’s operational activities were initially suspended. Orders and deliveries are currently on hold. However, according to internal information, these are to be resumed in the foreseeable future. A specific date has not yet been announced. Further details are expected in the course of this week.
For dealers and customers, the situation currently requires patience above all else. However, communication with dealers indicates that the focus is deliberately on continuity rather than a hard restart with radical cuts.
Significance for dealers and customers
The classification of the situation is particularly crucial in the context of Harley-Davidson dealers. The new holding solution makes it clear that KessTech is not to disappear from the market, but at the same time, a new start without any legacy issues will be made from a legal perspective.
The planned continuation with experienced staff and existing know-how suggests that customers and dealers can expect to see the familiar products and structures again in the medium term. However, until official statements and concrete timetables are available, the situation remains in flux.
Outlook
An official statement from RLS 2025 Holding is expected in the course of the week. It is likely to provide further details on the strategic direction, the restart of production, and the future positioning of KessTech. The information available so far suggests that stability and continuity are the main priorities.
