Swiss Moto3 rider Noah Dettwiler, who was seriously injured in an accident, has spoken out for the first time. In an official statement, he provides insights into his state of health and his future plans.
  • Dettwiler speaks out for the first time since the accident in Sepang
  • Management change officially confirmed
  • Future in racing currently uncertain

Noah Dettwiler has spoken publicly for the first time since his serious accident at the Motorcycle World Championship in Sepang. The 20-year-old has been back in Switzerland for around two weeks and is working on his recovery. His statement was published in several languages and provides insights into the period since the crash and the next steps.

Gratitude and insights into his recovery

In his message, the Swiss rider speaks openly about the challenges of the past few weeks. The accident had serious consequences, including enormous blood loss and four cardiac arrests. However, after having his spleen removed, undergoing surgery on his leg and having his neck stabilised, he remains confident.

Dettwiler writes: “My life and my career have presented me with a major challenge. I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has sent me so much love, good wishes, and positive energy over the past few weeks. It has helped me enormously.”

Rehabilitation and medical care

In his statement, the driver also describes the next stages of his recovery. The focus is now on rehabilitation, with the aim of making continuous progress. At the same time, he emphasizes the dedication of the medical teams who have been supporting him since the accident.

“I am now undergoing rehabilitation and am delighted with every positive step forward. I would also like to express my gratitude to the medical team and the rehabilitation specialists. Thanks to these experts and their dedication, I am able to work optimally on my recovery.”

Support from family, friends, and team

Dettwiler attaches great importance to his personal environment. His family, girlfriend, supporters, and fans are playing an important role in this difficult phase. He also expresses his sincere thanks to his previous team and the advisors from the last two World Cup years.

He says: “I would like to thank my family, my girlfriend Cannelle, my supporters and fans for their fantastic support. Thanks also to my team, management and advisors who have accompanied me in the Moto3 World Championship over the past two years.”

His focus is now clearly on making a full recovery: “My first goal now is to get back to full health and then prepare for my personal and professional future.”

Confirmed management change

The published statement also confirms a previously announced change in management. David Kriech, who will remain involved in the MotoGP environment through various projects, has handed over responsibility to entrepreneur Daniele Camuso. The transition was planned before the accident and has now been made official.

Uncertain sporting future

It is currently unclear whether Dettwiler will return to the Motorcycle World Championship after his recovery. Although there are reportedly positive signals from Paolo Simoncelli’s team, the sporting outlook remains open. A decision on a possible restart on two wheels is not expected until a later date.
