Farewell to three distinctive models
With the end of production, Norton is bidding farewell to three motorcycles, each of which embodies its own character:
- V4SV: The super sports bike was introduced in 2022 and was priced at over £30,000 (around €35,000 or $37,500).
- V4CR: Norton’s café racer was launched in 2023 and cost more than £40,000 (around €46,500 or $50,000).
- Commando 961: This classically inspired retro bike has been available since 2023 and costs around £17,000 (approximately €19,750 or $21,250).
According to Norton, a few remaining units will be offered as collector’s items through dealers. Specific details on the features or availability of these last models are not yet available.
Looking to the future: Six new models planned by 2028
With the withdrawal of these three series, Norton is focusing entirely on the future. According to earlier statements, the manufacturer plans to launch a total of six new models within three years. The first of these new motorcycles is to be presented by the end of 2025.
According to the company, this new generation represents the first complete new beginning since the takeover by TVS. The future motorcycles will therefore not only feature a new design language, but also a modernized technical basis. More detailed information on the orientation of the new model range has not yet been announced.
Statement from Norton: Farewell and outlook
In an official statement, Richard Arnold, Executive Director of Norton Motorcycles, commented on the model change:
“The Norton V4SV, V4CR, and Commando 961 are known worldwide as the latest representatives of a long line of iconic Norton motorcycles. When one chapter ends, a new one begins – and the wait for our exciting future is almost over.”
Conclusion
The complete overhaul of the current lineup marks a profound change at Norton. By discontinuing existing models and announcing a fresh start, the traditional brand is clearly aiming for a strategic new beginning. Which specific machines will follow remains to be seen until EICMA in November.
