- TT 2026 ran from May 25 to June 6 – with a revised schedule, a third rest day, and seven instead of six qualifying sessions
- Early end: Weather brought TT 2026 to a premature close – the Senior TT was scored after one lap (Dean Harrison wins ahead of Peter Hickman and Josh Brookes), Sportbike TT 2 and Superstock TT 2 cancelled without replacement
- New class: Supertwin becomes “Sportbike TT” – three-cylinder machines and BSB sportbikes eligible for the first time
- Michael Dunlop has extended his record to 36 TT wins – including ten consecutive Supersport victories and the maiden win in the new Sportbike class
- Peter Hickman races again for BMW – Davey Todd ruled out of TT 2026 after serious Daytona injuries. Todd also entered the Supersport class on Triumph
- Ian Hutchinson switches to Ducati, multiple sidecar legends make comebacks
- Hollywood factor: Channing Tatum and Eve Hewson are shooting the Amazon MGM feature film „Isle of Man“ at TT 2026 – the accompanying documentary series was already recorded in 2024
The 2026 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy is over – and it proved to be a historic edition. Organisers have revamped the schedule, introduced a new race class, and built more flexibility into the programme. At the same time, spectacular rider signings, comeback stories, and Hollywood involvement are generating attention well beyond the road racing scene.
This page is your central hub for everything related to the Isle of Man TT 2026: schedule, race classes, riders and teams, results, and links to our in-depth reports. TT 2026 ended early on 6 June due to weather – this overview reflects the final state of play.
Schedule and Race Format 2026
TT 2026 ran from May 25 (Bank Holiday Monday) to June 6 and concluded with the Milwaukee Senior TT on Saturday – scored after one lap due to the weather. The Mountain Course – 60.7 km long, climbing from sea level to over 400 metres – once again provides the backdrop for the world’s most dangerous motorcycle race.
Key structural changes compared to 2025:
- Three instead of two rest days: Qualifying week now includes a rest day on Thursday for the first time.
- Seven instead of six qualifying sessions: An additional daytime session on Wednesday of race week has been added.
- New race order: Superstock now runs alongside Sidecar races, Supersport alongside the new Sportbike class.
- More contingency windows: Additional time slots for weather-related postponements.

Race Classes 2026
TT 2026 features eight races across four classes (plus the Senior TT as a sixth, cross-class category):
Superbike TT – The premier class. Heavily modified 1000cc machines based on FIM-homologated superbikes. One race (Sunday), six laps.
Superstock TT – Same base machines as Superbike, but with severely restricted modifications and road tyres. Two races.
Supersport TT – Middleweight sport machines, increasingly under Next Generation international regulations. Two races.
Sportbike TT (new!) – Replaces the former Supertwin class. Alongside established twins like the Paton S1-R, Aprilia RS 660, and Kawasaki ER-6, BSB Sportbike machines are now eligible for the first time: Triumph Daytona 660, CF Moto 675SR-R, Suzuki GSX-8R, Honda Hornet 750, and more. Two races.
Sidecar TT – The most traditional class. Three-wheelers with a passenger who leans into every corner. Two races. Cancelled. Following the fatal accident involving Mark Ingham on Wednesday evening and Ryan Costello’s serious injuries on Thursday, the organisers cancelled both Sidecar races for TT 2026. The class is expected to return in 2027.

Milwaukee Senior TT – The Saturday finale and the most prestigious race of the TT. Unlike other classes, riders are not restricted to a single machine category: anyone who has qualified on multiple bikes can freely choose which one to race – be it Superbike, Superstock, or otherwise. Six laps around the Mountain Course.

Riders and Teams 2026: Key Signings
The TT 2026 field brings together established record holders, spectacular comebacks, and promising newcomers.
Title Contenders
Michael Dunlop – 35 TT wins, the most successful TT rider of all time. In April 2026, Dunlop announced the switch to the Ducati Panigale V4 R for the Superbike class, but pulled the machine before the North West 200 citing the need for further development. On the opening practice day of the 2026 TT, Dunlop confirmed he will race the Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade from Hawk Racing in the Superbike class. The Ducati project is postponed to the future. Awarded the MBE in late 2025 and named Irish Motorcyclist of the Year once again.
Peter Hickman – 16 TT wins, outright lap record holder (135.452 mph). Continues with BMW but is still recovering from nerve damage sustained in his heavy crash at TT 2025.
Davey Todd – 2025 Superbike TT winner and 2024 Senior TT winner. The 30-year-old Englishman was declared unfit to race on May 12, 2026, by the TT’s medical specialist panel. The serious injuries sustained in his Daytona 200 crash in March – fractures to femur, tibia, foot and nose – have not healed sufficiently. Todd had already missed the North West 200 and is now focusing on 2027. His 8TEN Racing team will compete without him.
Dean Harrison – Double Superstock winner in 2025. Crowned TT 2026 with victories in the Superbike TT and the Senior TT, scored after one lap – his seventh TT win overall.
Nathan Harrison – The 27-year-old rising star from Onchan has fought his way back after a serious crash at Donington Park (broken femur, spinal fracture) and is targeting his first TT podium. Fourth place in the 2025 Superbike TT and a 131 mph lap were his best results to date.

Transfers and New Signings
Ian Hutchinson – The 16-time TT winner makes a sensational switch to Ducati, racing for RST as their first official factory team in 2026.
Dominic Herbertson – Racing for KTS Racing on the BMW M1000RR.
Jamie Cringle – The Manx rider joins Cosmic Racing on the BMW M1000RR. In the new Sportbike class, he also rides the CFMoto 675SR-R for Team Moto Twelve Racing – the historic TT debut of a Chinese manufacturer under its own brand. In the second Supersport race on June 5, Cringle crashed heavily at Union Mills, sustaining open fractures of the tibia and fibula, a sternum fracture and a lumbar vertebra fracture, among other injuries. → Jamie Cringle after TT crash: Serious injuries and concerns about his business
Adam McLean – Was originally entered with CD Racing and a Kawasaki in the Supersport class but had to withdraw due to a recent operation.
Joey Thompson – Stays with York Suzuki on the GSX-R1000.
Conor Cummins – Launches his own team, Conrod Motorsport, for TT 2026. Additionally, Cummins joins Bathams AJN Racing for the Superbike and Senior TT on the BMW M1000RR from Storm Stacey’s 2025 BSB season. In the Supersport class, he competes for North Lincs Components on a Suzuki GSX-R750 – his most comprehensive TT programme to date.
Josh Brookes / DAO Racing – The established BSB team returns to road racing after a two-year hiatus. Brookes rides the Honda Fireblade in all 1000cc classes at the TT and the North West 200, plus a next-generation Suzuki GSX-R750 in the Supersport class. At the NW200, Brookes finished third in the Superbike race for DAO Racing. New addition: Brookes also races for Uggly & Co Racing under the DAO banner – wearing a special Kevin Schwantz tribute livery as a homage to the 1993 500cc World Champion.

Comebacks and Legends
John Holden – The sidecar legend returns to the TT at the age of 69.
Tim Reeves – The 73-start sidecar legend was set to return with new passenger Melanie Farnier for Carl Cox Motorsport. However, Reeves withdrew from TT 2026 in May – citing personal reasons and the desire to protect his legacy after three decades of racing on the Mountain Course.
Steve Kershaw & Rhys Gibbons – Returning as a sidecar duo for TT 2026.
Ellis & Clément – Former Sidecar World Champions chasing their first TT podium in 2026.
David Datzer – The German rider plans a new attempt at the Tourist Trophy following his serious crash in 2025.
John McGuinness – The 23-time TT winner celebrates his 30th anniversary at the Isle of Man TT in 2026. McGuinness will be honoured with a parade lap and special exhibition. At the same time, the 54-year-old has indicated this could be his final TT – a farewell after three decades of racing history on the Mountain Course.
Michael Rutter – The seven-time TT winner will not race at TT 2026 himself. After his crash in the Supertwin race at TT 2025, the last percentage points of fitness are still missing. Instead, he leads his Bathams AJN Racing team as manager and has signed Conor Cummins as rider for the Superbike and Senior classes.
Newcomers 2026
Several promising riders will make their Mountain Course debut at TT 2026:
Rhys Stephenson – At 20 years old, the youngest rider in the solo entry list. The Briton races for Rocket Racing exclusively in the new Sportbike class on a Triumph Daytona 660. Stephenson comes from the Pirelli National Sportbike Championship and is taking a deliberately learning-oriented approach.
Gary McCoy, Ryan Garside, and Caomhan Canny – all three qualified through the Irish road racing scene and are preparing for their first TT adventure.

Review: TT 2025 – Key Results
TT 2025 was the best-attended in over 15 years – 51,650 fans made the trip to the Island. The Senior TT had to be cancelled due to high winds, but the remaining nine races delivered spectacular action:
Michael Dunlop made history: he surpassed Joey Dunlop as the most successful TT rider of all time and claimed his 33rd TT victory. Davey Todd won the Superbike race in a thrilling finish ahead of Dunlop. Dean Harrison took two Superstock wins. Ryan and Callum Crowe dominated the Sidecar races with a clean sweep of all four.

Off the Track: Film, Streaming and Events
Hollywood comes to the TT: Amazon MGM Studios is producing the feature film „Isle of Man“ starring Channing Tatum and Eve Hewson. Screenplay is by Simon Carolin („This is Going to Hurt“), with Plan B Entertainment (Brad Pitt) and Box to Box Films involved in production. Pitt himself arrived on the island during race week, sparking discussions among the local community. Filming takes place during TT 2026; the accompanying documentary series was already recorded in 2024. Keanu Reeves’ Arch Racing is eyeing an entry with their own team.

Road Racing 2026: The Wider Picture
The TT is the centrepiece of the road racing season, but not the only event. The North West 200 2026, the traditional warm-up event before the TT, was overshadowed by a fatal accident during Superbike qualifying – the 20th in the event’s history. Saturday’s race day nonetheless delivered high-class racing: BSB rider Storm Stacey won both the Superstock and second Superbike race on BMW on his debut, ending Glenn Irwin’s years-long Superbike dominance. The Irish Road Racing Championship 2026 is stabilising after difficult years, and both the Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT 2026 are also on the calendar – the latter celebrating John McGuinness MBE’s 30-year TT career with a special parade lap and exhibition.

Practice and Qualifying 2026
Day 1 – Monday, 25 May: The opening practice day was cut short following a serious incident at the exit of Parliament Square in Ramsey. During the third untimed session (Superbike/Superstock), a motorcycle left the course and struck a spectator area. A total of nine people were treated – one rider and eight spectators. The spectator zone at Parliament Square has been permanently closed for the entire TT 2026; two spectators remain in hospital. Organisers halted all activities for the remainder of the day; the scheduled qualifying sessions were cancelled. It was the second consecutive shortened TT opener – in 2025, rain had prevented any sessions beyond the newcomers’ lap. On the sidelines, Michael Dunlop surprised by lining up on a Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade from Hawk Racing in the Superbike class instead of the previously announced Ducati Panigale V4 R. Dean Harrison was noted by observers as particularly strong during the opening sessions.
Day 2 – Tuesday, 26 May: The first timed qualifying session took place in record heat and near-zero wind. Dean Harrison topped the Superbike/Superstock session at 133.9 mph on his hybrid concept combining a Superbike engine with a Superstock chassis. Michael Dunlop struggled with the Honda Fireblade setup, returning to the pits immediately to have the fork preload adjusted. In the Sidecar class, the Crowe Brothers dominated with 118.224 mph and a massive 47-second gap over Founds/Walmsley. The new 27 mm restrictors showed a clear effect – top speed dropped from 161.6 to 154.6 mph. A red flag following an incident at Brandish ended the Sidecar session early. In the Supersport qualifying, Dunlop demolished the competition on his Ducati Panigale V2 with 126.922 mph – a commanding 22.8-second margin over Josh Brookes. Paul Jordan led the new Sportbike class at 120.208 mph on the Aprilia RS 660.

Day 3 – Wednesday Practice & Qualifying: The third day of practice saw Dean Harrison extend his lead in the Superbike class while Michael Dunlop parked both his machines early. Harrison set the pace across multiple classes, building on his strong qualifying form.

Wednesday evening turned into the darkest moment of TT 2026. During the final qualifying session, Mark Ingham lost his life in an accident at Keppel Gate. The 72-year-old sidecar passenger – a father of three from Leeds – sustained fatal injuries. It was the first fatality of TT 2026 and a sobering reminder of the risks the Mountain Course demands.
On Thursday, another serious sidecar incident followed: Maria Costello was critically injured in a sidecar crash during qualifying – she has since been diagnosed with a spinal cord injury and is currently paralysed from the T5/T6 area. A fundraising campaign aims to finance her long-term rehabilitation. Following these incidents, the organisers cancelled both Sidecar races for TT 2026. The eight remaining solo races continue as scheduled.

Day 5 – Friday, 29 May: The final practice day brought three sessions and the definitive pecking order ahead of Race Day 1. In the morning, Dean Harrison posted 134.877 mph in the fourth qualifying session. In the afternoon, he raised the bar to 135.484 mph on the Superstock machine in the final big-bike qualifying – the fastest lap of the entire practice week and just 1.6 seconds off his personal best. Josh Brookes (132.220 mph) and Michael Dunlop (131.946 mph) followed. Peter Hickman was hampered by technical issues. In parallel, Dunlop dominated Supersport and Sportbike at around 128.7 mph and 123 mph respectively. The final evening session saw Dunlop top Supersport again at 128.719 mph while Mike Browne led the Sportbike field at 121.348 mph.
