The 2026 motorcycle year brings a wealth of new releases – from completely new models to major overhauls, fresh colors, and technical updates. Manufacturers are focusing on broader model ranges, modern electronics, and increasingly on alternative powertrains. This overview page summarizes all the important motorcycle news for 2026, sorted by manufacturer, and is continuously updated.

Whether sporty naked bikes, comfortable tourers, versatile adventure motorcycles, or the growing number of electric models – this season has something for every type of rider. A comprehensive look at the trade show highlights can also be found in our EICMA 2025 report.

BMW Motorrad

BMW Motorrad is placing a clear emphasis on expanding the entry-level segment in 2026. At the center is the new F 450 GS – the first A2-compliant model in the GS family. The new 450cc parallel twin with a 125-degree crankpin offset and approximately 47 hp is designed to redefine entry into the world of adventure bikes. According to BMW, the weight will be competitive, and alongside the classic spoked wheel version, a cast wheel variant is also planned.

The R 1300 GS remains the best-selling adventure bike worldwide as the flagship model and receives new color options for 2026. Rumors about a possible M 1300 GS as a sporty top-of-the-range version persist but remain unconfirmed.

Already confirmed, however, is a comprehensive facelift for the S 1000 XR and M 1000 XR for model year 2027. Homologation documents filed in Australia reveal a completely new front design with a central headlight, streamlined tail, and new side fairings. Engine output remains unchanged.

From South Africa comes an exclusive premiere: The M 1000 RR M2 Edition and S 1000 RR M2 Edition are the first joint special models from BMW Motorrad and BMW M – strictly limited to ten units each, available exclusively in South Africa. For the 115th Isle of Man TT, BMW also launches the M 1000 RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT – 115 units in British Racing Green based on the M Competition, priced from €49,900.

BMW Motorrad France is also pursuing market-exclusive special editions: The R 1300 GS Adventure Dark Edition offers a Triple Black design, heated seats, and an alarm system at an effective price of €22,900 – available exclusively in France until June 2026.

In the heritage segment, another highlight is on the horizon: The BMW R20 with approximately 2,000 cc Big Boxer displacement is moving closer to series production. Six near-production-ready test units have already been spotted uncamouflaged in Munich – the retro roadster based on the R 18 engine is expected to enter production by 2027 at the latest.

In the touring and grand tourer segment, BMW Motorrad unveiled the Vision K18 on May 15, 2026, at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. The one-off vision bike features an enlarged 1,800 cc inline six-cylinder engine based on the K 1600 platform, hand-shaped aluminum bodywork inspired by supersonic aviation, and forged carbon elements. While officially a design study, the displacement increase from 1,649 cc to 1,800 cc suggests BMW may be planning a new generation of K models – the path from the Concept 101 at the same event in 2015 to the production K 1600 B sets a precedent.

Ducati

Ducati celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2026 and is using this occasion for an extensive model offensive. At the center is the new V2 engine platform with 890cc displacement, which replaces the previous Testastretta engine. All reveal dates are summarized in our Ducati World Première 2026 overview.

The Monster 2026 debuts as the fifth generation of the iconic naked bike series – featuring the new 890cc V2, a monocoque frame, and a weight of just 175 kg without fuel. The Multistrada V4 Rally has been comprehensively updated and is available for the first time in a striking Jade Green.

With the Panigale V4 R, Ducati brings the most advanced superbike in its history to market. Developed in close collaboration with Ducati Corse, it serves as the homologation basis for the Superbike World Championship and features corner sidepod aerodynamics from MotoGP for the first time. Power output reaches up to 239 hp with the racing exhaust.

For the anniversary, the Ducati Formula ’73 hints at a special model. US homologation documents list the model on the Scrambler platform – a tribute to the legendary 750 Supersport Desmo from 1973. Updated Scrambler variants including the Nightshift in new emerald green complete the lineup.

The Superleggera V4 Centenario crowns the anniversary: An all-new Desmosedici Stradale R 1100 engine producing 228 hp, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a wet weight of just 173 kg make it the most technologically advanced production motorcycle in Ducati’s history. Limited to 500 numbered units plus 100 Tricolore editions.

In the off-road segment, Ducati confirms the street-legal Desmo450 EDS as the third model on the 450 platform. The enduro based on the competition EDX will be unveiled on June 9, 2026 via the official YouTube channel, with pre-orders already being taken at selected off-road dealers. Full street equipment including lighting and catalytic converter marks Ducati’s entry into the dual-sport market.

Harley-Davidson

Harley-Davidson presents for 2026 a total of 13 new motorcycles and trikes, making it one of the most extensive model offensives in recent years. The focus is on the Grand American Touring models Street Glide and Road Glide.

The Sportster lineup with the Sportster S, Nightster Special, and Nightster focuses on modern technology and new engine covers. The Nightster returns to the European range – in striking Blood Orange with flat track-inspired decals. In the adventure segment, the Pan America 1250 remains available in the Special and ST variants.

Honda

Honda is attracting attention in 2026 with several strategically important new releases. The biggest signal comes from the electric segment: The WN7 is Honda’s first large-displacement electric motorcycle for street use, with a market launch from January 2026 and a competitive entry price of approximately €7,500.

In the combustion segment, the new CB 1000 GT stands out – a sport tourer based on the CB 1000 Hornet, positioned against the Suzuki GSX-S 1000 GX, BMW S 1000 XR, and Kawasaki Versys 1100. The CB 1000 F and CB 1000 F SE arrive as retro variants. Additionally, the new 500cc four-cylinder CB 500 Super Four and CBR 500 R Four with approximately 80 hp are under discussion.

At the 42nd Osaka Motorcycle Show, Honda unveiled the CB400 Super Four and CBR400R Four as E-Clutch Concepts – featuring an all-new inline-four displacing approximately 399 cc and the next generation of Honda’s E-Clutch system. Both models could redefine the Japanese 400cc market.

Kawasaki

Kawasaki brings back the Z 1100 and Z 1100 SE as the new flagship in the supernaked segment. Following the discontinuation of the Z1000 in 2020 due to Euro 5, there is once again a full-fledged top model in the Z range.

The return of the KLE 500 as a touring enduro is one of the most anticipated comebacks of the season. The model is to be positioned in the 48 hp class for A2 license holders. The Ninja model range receives new color options for the ZX-4R, ZX-6R, Ninja 650, and Ninja 500.

Kawasaki subsidiary Bimota is also expanding its lineup: the KB399 Espresso is a new 400cc model based on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR. It was officially unveiled on March 18, 2026, just ahead of the Osaka Motorcycle Show. At the top of the range, Bimota is launching the KB998 Rimini Elite – a track-only version of the KB998 limited to just five units worldwide, built for the most demanding private racers.

KTM

For KTM, 2026 is a year of consolidation. Following economic difficulties and the full takeover by Indian partner Bajaj, the Austrian manufacturer skipped EICMA 2025 and is postponing major new releases to later dates.

Nevertheless, KTM is launching its most extensive Duke model family to date. At the top of the range sits the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR 2026, limited to 350 units worldwide – featuring a 193 hp LC8 V-twin with new CAMSHIFT technology and 11 kg less weight than the 1390 Super Duke R. Even more exclusive is the KTM 1390 Super Duke RR Track – the first pure track-only model in the Super Duke family, limited to 100 units, with 196 hp, Brembo GP4-MS brakes in Superbike specification and forged magnesium wheels. An electric Duke is also in development – the KTM E-Duke could arrive as early as 2026, but 2027 is more likely. KTM has also filed a patent for a novel electrically assisted supercharger. The warranty coverage has been extended to four years for all street models. With the Freeride E 2027, KTM has also brought a first new-generation electric model to dealers in April 2026 – a 26 hp enduro with street homologation, 5.5 kWh battery and 112 kg kerb weight, rideable from age 16 with an A1 licence.

India’s tax reform is also making waves at KTM: The Bajaj-KTM alliance is betting on a 349cc variant of the Duke and Adventure models – specifically sized to meet domestic tax thresholds. → Triumph and KTM Downsize to 349 cc: How India’s New Tax Rules Reshape the Model Range

In the adventure segment, KTM is launching a new edition of its limited 890 Adventure R Rally 2026 with Dakar DNA. The Rally features WP Pro Components suspension with 270 mm of travel and the proven 889 cc parallel twin producing 106 hp. Production numbers are once again limited worldwide, with deliveries starting in April 2026. In the off-road segment, the KTM 450 Rally Replica 2027 follows – a race machine limited to just over 100 units, featuring a 449.3cc SOHC single-cylinder engine, Akrapovic titanium exhaust, and a 35-litre three-tank system, with deliveries beginning in July 2026. Additionally, eight units of the Luciano Benavides Factory Edition in Red Bull KTM livery will be produced.

Husqvarna

Husqvarna Mobility adds a Style Edition to the Svartpilen range for model year 2027. The Svartpilen 801 SE comes with cruise control and a bidirectional quickshifter (Easy Shift) as standard, along with a distinctive dark green colour scheme. The proven LC8c parallel twin with 799 cc and 105 hp remains unchanged. The US list price is $10,799 (approximately €9,210); a European price has not yet been confirmed.

In the off-road segment, Husqvarna presents the complete motocross lineup for model year 2027: nine machines from the TC 50 to the FC 450 receive a white chrome-moly frame and new graphics but remain technically unchanged. The full-size two-strokes (TC 125, TC 250, TC 300) feature throttle body injection, while the four-strokes (FC 250, FC 350, FC 450) offer a quickshifter, traction control, and launch control. US prices range from $5,199 for the TC 50 to $11,749 for the FC 450.

Suzuki

Suzuki is focusing on targeted updates to existing model lines. The Hayabusa receives revised riding modes, an improved cruise control, and a new lithium-ion battery. Two new color variants and a special edition complete the lineup.

The V-Strom 1050 and V-Strom 1050DE receive a visual refresh and repositioned pricing. The GSX-8R arrives in three new color options. In addition, Suzuki Germany is expanding the range with Edition models: Power Editions with Akrapovic exhausts deliver up to 2.4 hp more power and up to 3.9 kg weight savings, while Travel Editions come equipped with side cases and center stands from the factory. Editions are available for the Hayabusa, GSX-8S, GSX-8R, GSX-S 1000GX and V-Strom models, offering savings of up to around 1,000 euros compared to buying the parts separately.

Suzuki’s biggest surprise for 2026 is the SV-7GX – a new crossover model that brings the legendary 645 cc V-twin up to Euro 5+ in an entirely new package. With ride-by-wire, three riding modes, traction control and a bidirectional quickshifter from €7,999, the SV-7GX positions itself as an aggressively priced middleweight crossover against the Yamaha Tracer 7, Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and Kawasaki Versys 650. A Touring Edition with tank bag, soft bags and tall screen is available from €8,999. Market launch is in fall 2026.

Triumph

Triumph is launching what is arguably the most ambitious model offensive in its history: 29 new or revised motorcycles have been announced worldwide, approximately 18 of which will come to Europe.

The Scrambler 900 has been fundamentally redesigned – with a new tubular steel frame, aluminum swingarm, lean-angle-dependent ABS and traction control, ride-by-wire with three riding modes, and a new instrument cluster with TFT display. New to the lineup is the Trident 800, serving the mid-range naked bike segment, along with the Tracker 400 and Thruxton 400, which expand the 400cc range. The Daytona 660 receives an adjustable Showa SFF-BP fork, a standard quickshifter, and Metzeler M9RR Supersport tyres for 2026 – improvements informed by the factory racing programme. Meanwhile, India’s new tax reform is prompting Triumph to rethink its 400cc strategy: The Bonneville 400 is likely to launch as a 349cc version – a downsizing move driven by tax bracket thresholds in the Indian market, with potential ripple effects for international variants.

Yamaha

Yamaha is primarily advancing electronics and rider assistance in 2026. The Tenere 700 World Raid receives an IMU for lean-angle-dependent systems and cruise control for the first time. The new Tracer 7 GT comes with the Y-AMT transmission and improved equipment.

From a technological perspective, Yamaha is making waves with a patent for artificial engine sounds and vibrations in electric motorcycles. There is also the E-Turbo – Yamaha’s own solution for forced-induction motorcycles.

Additionally, worldwide trademark registrations point to a new single-cylinder sportbike: The YZF-R2 with approximately 200 cc displacement and an estimated 24 hp is set to bridge the gap between the R15 and R3. The first-ever filing in the USA signals serious production intent.

Other Manufacturers

In addition to the major brands, smaller and emerging manufacturers are also bringing interesting new releases to market:

Aprilia continues its winning streak from MotoGP into production models. With the X series, Aprilia Racing also offers the world’s most exclusive bridge between MotoGP prototype and customer: each model is limited to 30 units, built exclusively for track use, and personally handed over in Noale. The sixth model in the series was unveiled at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin in March 2026.

The RS 457 GP Replica brings MotoGP livery, a standard quickshifter and improved brakes to the A2 class – available from April 2026 at €7,550.

Benelli is expanding its portfolio in multiple directions: The BKX 125 brings a new adventure bike to the 125cc class, the TNT 550 as a naked bike, and the TRK 902 Stradale as a road-focused touring enduro complement the mid-range and upper segments.

BRABUS / DAB Motors – The German luxury tuner BRABUS enters the electric motorcycle market in partnership with French manufacturer DAB Motors. Three models have been announced: the BRABUS Edition 1, a minimalist urban e-bike with distinctive design; the D-One, a premium street model; and the D-One X, the off-road variant. All three models feature DAB Motors’ proprietary electric platform. Market launch is planned for late 2026.

Buell finally begins deliveries of the Super Cruiser after years of waiting.

CFMoto continues to push into the high-performance segment – the V4 SR-RR presented at EICMA is an ambitious superbike. At the same time, CFMoto is working on the next generation in the cruiser segment: the 550CL-C brings a 526 cc parallel twin producing 53 hp and an aluminum swingarm – a significant upgrade over the 450CL-C with a planned market launch in 2027. In addition, Chinese type-approval documents reveal the CLC-V250 – a new 250 cc V-twin cruiser producing 27 hp. It is only the second V-twin in CFMoto’s history and marks an independent path for the brand’s entry-level cruiser segment. At the top end, the adventure range is rounded out by the new 1000MT-X with a 946 cc parallel twin based on the KTM LC8c platform, 113 hp and KYB suspension – a new flagship priced from €9,999.

Moto Morini expands its portfolio with the Corsaro GT, a long-distance-capable crossover model.

MV Agusta kicks off a new model generation with the Brutale 950 Serie Oro – limited to 300 units with a newly developed three-cylinder engine. The Enduro Veloce 2026 takes a different approach with full equipment as standard: aluminium panniers, crash bars, fog lights and centre stand are all included from the factory. The Rush Titanio 2026 represents the most elaborate edition of the hyper-naked range to date – delivering 206 hp (with Arrow exhaust), the world-first Öhlins Smart EC 3.0 suspension and a seat entirely made of Alcantara. The F3 R 2026 has been significantly reduced in price: at 16,000 euros, MV Agusta repositions the 147 hp triple in the middleweight segment – with unchanged full equipment including six-axis IMU and Brembo Stylema brakes. The Brutale 1000 ABT marks MV Agusta’s first collaboration with German tuning specialist ABT Sportsline: limited to 130 numbered units for ABT’s 130th anniversary, the special edition pairs 201 hp (208 hp with racing kit) with 19 carbon fiber components, an Alcantara seat, and an Arrow titanium exhaust – priced at 40,990 euros with production starting in Q4 2026.

Royal Enfield enters the FIM Flat Track World Championship with the Sherpa FT Mk2. The race machine based on the Guerrilla 450 (452 cc, 40 hp) debuted on May 9, 2026, at the season opener in Roden, Netherlands. Royal Enfield describes it as a soon-to-be-launched production model. The brand also takes the leap into the electric segment with the Flying Flea C6 – the brand’s first series-production electric motorcycle in its 125-year history. With a 3.91 kWh battery and 15.4 kW peak power, it’s aimed squarely at the urban 125cc segment. In parallel, Royal Enfield is expanding the 452cc Sherpa platform further: The Scram 450 is set to arrive in 2027 as a third scrambler alongside the Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450 – featuring a 19-inch front wheel, USD fork, and a distinctive tracker design.

GWM Souo marks a first: The motorcycle brand of Chinese automotive giant Great Wall Motor has received European Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) for the LH2000 (S2000). The 1,999 cc flat-eight boxer engine producing 154 hp with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission makes it the first Chinese luxury motorcycle with official EU type approval. Whether and when a dealer network in Europe will be established remains to be seen.

Norton is facing a complete restart under TVS leadership: six new models on three engine platforms have been announced. The lineup is spearheaded by the Norton Manx R 2026 – the new supersport flagship with a 1,200 cc V4, 209 hp, seven colour variants and production at the Solihull plant. First riding impressions from Seville confirm: the Manx R delivers on its promise – with precise handling, powerful V4 thrust, and a racing-derived chassis that feels at home on both road and track. → Norton Manx R 2026 First Ride Review: Road and Track Test in Seville

Mac Motorcycles, a family-run manufacturer from South Yorkshire, officially commenced operations on May 8, 2026, after more than a decade of development. The brand offers two hand-assembled retro models: the Rex as an upright roadster and the Ruby as a sportier café racer. Both use a liquid-cooled 600cc SWM single-cylinder (57 bhp) in a steel backbone frame, weigh 150 kg dry, and are priced from £15,500 (approx. €17,900). Chassis and bodywork panels are interchangeable between the two variants.

Morbidelli enters the market with the N125V, one of the most unusual 125cc machines of the year: a liquid-cooled V-twin producing 13.8 hp, a steel trellis frame and an aluminium single-sided swingarm set it far apart from the single-cylinder competition. The European market launch is expected from May 2026 in Italy and Spain. Behind the brand stands the Chinese Keeway Group. In parallel, Morbidelli has unveiled the Timeless 1200 in China – a retro scrambler powered by a 1,222 cc parallel twin producing 83 hp, technically based on the Brixton Cromwell 1200 X and manufactured by the Chinese company Gaokin. The latest addition is the T125WR – a 125 cc dual-sport off-roader that expands the brand’s portfolio into the entry-level segment.

QJMotor moves closer to Japanese and European middleweight sport bikes with the revised SRK600RS 2026: 101 hp from 680 cc, new Magneti Marelli electronics with ride-by-wire, quickshifter and cruise control. The top version comes with Marzocchi suspension, Brembo brakes and cornering ABS – at a significantly reduced entry price in China starting from the equivalent of around 4,050 euros. Whether the update will reach Europe remains open.

Voge pushes into the European entry-level segment with the R125S. The 125cc naked combines traction control, an integrated 1080p dashcam and Bluetooth connectivity from just 2,888 euros – significantly undercutting Japanese and European competition.

Bashan enters the large-displacement cruiser class with the BS1200-G, a hardtail bobber powered by a 1,202 cc V-twin from Shineray – technically closely related to the discontinued Harley-Davidson Evolution Sportster engine. Chinese type approval has been granted; a European launch has not been confirmed.

Kove is preparing a comprehensive facelift for the 800X adventure motorcycle. The redesign brings a completely new front design with sharper, more aggressive lines, a revised dashboard, and refined ergonomics – while retaining the proven 799 cc parallel twin. → Kove 800X Redesign 2026: New Design for the Adventure Bike

Segway enters the high-performance e-offroad class with the Xaber 300. The dirtbike delivers 21 kW peak power and 600 Nm of torque at just 85 kg, features a virtual e-clutch and four riding modes simulating 150 cc to 300 cc combustion engines. Available from May 2026 in the US at $5,299.

→ Segway Xaber 300: The Dirtbike Aiming to Shake Up the Electric Off-Road Market

Zero Motorcycles has unveiled a comprehensive update to its electric motorcycle range, including the new Urban Scooter LS1 and the Lompico Concept. A design patent registered at the EUIPO on May 7, 2026 now strongly suggests that the Lompico Concept will enter production – likely under the name Zero SF. An 8.8 kWh battery, approximately 30 kW (41 hp) and the new Cypher 4 operating system place it in the A2 license category at a target price under 10,000 US dollars.

LiveWire (Harley-Davidson subsidiary) has acquired off-road startup Dust Moto and its electric dirtbike platform Hightail. With 32 kW (42 hp), a swappable 4.4 kWh battery and a weight under 100 kg, the Hightail targets the gap between lightweight Sur-Ron-style e-bikes and the high-performance Stark Varg. LiveWire plans to bring the model into series production using its global infrastructure.

With the S4 Honcho, LiveWire shifts focus to the affordable end of the electric market. Classified as a 125cc equivalent, the compact mini motorcycle comes in two versions – a road-legal Street and an off-road Trail. Two removable Kymco Ionex batteries sit under the seat, and a price well below $10,000 (approximately €8,620) would position the S4 Honcho as LiveWire’s most accessible model by a wide margin. Market launch is expected in summer 2026.

Letbe, a sub-brand of Chinese manufacturer Haojin, is entering the European market with the Arthur 700. The 693 cc parallel twin produces 75 hp and is available in Germany from May 2026 at a promotional price of 5,990 euros – undercutting the Yamaha MT-07 and Kawasaki Z 650 by up to 2,500 euros. KYB suspension, J.Juan brakes and Pirelli tyres complete a competitive specification sheet. As a second model, the Punk 500 Bobber joins the lineup – a 471 cc single-cylinder with 46 hp in the A2 class, aimed at the entry-level cruiser segment with bobber styling at an aggressive price point. → Letbe Punk 500 Bobber: A2 Cruiser with Aggressive Pricing

Technology Trends 2026

New brands and Chinese market entry: Chinese manufacturers are broadening their European presence beyond CFMoto. Letbe (Haojin Group) enters with the Arthur 700 at under 6,000 euros, challenging established middleweight naked bikes on price. The trend signals growing competitive pressure in segments previously dominated by Japanese manufacturers.

Forced induction returns: Following the trailblazer Kawasaki H2, the competition is now also making moves – Honda with the V3R (electric supercharger), Yamaha with the E-Turbo, and KTM with a patented hybrid supercharger.

Electronic rider aids become standard: Lean-angle-dependent ABS, traction control with IMU, adaptive riding modes, and ride-by-wire are no longer reserved for top-tier models in 2026. Automated transmissions like Yamaha’s Y-AMT are also spreading.

Electric – first large-scale production models: With Honda’s WN7, a major Japanese manufacturer brings a fully electric street motorcycle to market for the first time. KTM’s E-Duke is waiting in the wings, and niche manufacturers like Jarv and Zero are filling specialized segments.

A2 segment grows significantly: The 48 hp class gains high-quality additions with the BMW F 450 GS, the Kawasaki KLE 500, and Triumph’s 400cc range.

Anniversaries and heritage: Ducati’s 100th anniversary with the Formula ’73, Triumph’s record model offensive, and the return of heritage brands like Norton and BSA prove that history sells – especially when combined with modern technology.

Conclusion and Outlook

The 2026 motorcycle year is characterized by breadth and diversity. Manufacturers are expanding their model ranges in every direction – downward into the A2 class, upward with increasingly powerful superbikes, and sideways with retro models, adventure bikes, and the first serious electric offerings.

At the same time, it is clear that 2026 is a transitional year for some manufacturers: KTM is consolidating after the takeover, Suzuki surprises with the new SV-7GX, and the major revolution in the electric segment is still to come. The real turning point is expected from 2027 onward, with new emission regulations, Pirelli’s MotoGP entry, and the 850cc regulation reform taking effect.

This overview is continuously updated as new models are unveiled or confirmed. All details on the individual motorcycles are available through the linked articles.
