Aerodynamic innovation: Leg and rear wings for the first time
A striking difference from the previous RSV4: The X-GP is the world’s first production derivative with leg and rear wings. These come directly from the RS-GP25, the current MotoGP prototype from Noale. Together with front, underwing, and cornering wings, they generate targeted downforce when riding straight ahead, turning in, and even braking—with the aim of keeping the front stable on the ground and increasing riding precision. The shape of the side fairing utilizes ground effect aerodynamics, in which air under the bike is deliberately accelerated to generate additional downforce when leaning.
The aerodynamic package is complemented by a fairing system made entirely of carbon fiber, including a load-bearing seat rear made of structural carbon fiber, manufactured by PAN Compositi. This is not only intended to save weight, but also to improve feedback from the rear wheel.
Engine and technology: 238 hp for 165 kilograms
At the heart of the bike is a 1,099 cm³ 65-degree V4 engine that has been prepared to SBK level. With a peak output of 238 hp (175 kW) at 13,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 131 Nm at 11,000 rpm, the engine delivers performance figures that can hold their own even in professional racing. The engine features increased compression, a racing intake with modified funnels, a high-permeability sprint filter, an STM dry clutch, and a MotoGP-style 4-2 titanium system from SC Project.
All electronic systems are controlled by the APX Racing ECU—the same system used in Biaggi’s Superbike World Championship machines. It allows individual adjustment of traction control, engine braking, power delivery, and wheelie control for each individual gear. An integrated GPS unit, data acquisition, and a preconfigured Yashi laptop with the appropriate software are also included.
Chassis, brakes, and equipment: Pure racing components
The chassis consists of a double-welded aluminum frame, combined with a mechanically adjustable Öhlins FKR fork with pressure chamber technology and an Öhlins TTX piggyback shock absorber – both with special tuning. Deceleration is provided by a Brembo GP4 MS system, including 330 mm T-Drive brake discs and PR19x16 master cylinders.
Forged Marchesini M7R Genesi magnesium wheels, fitted with Pirelli Diablo Superbike slicks (125/70 SC1 front, 200/65 SCX rear), round off the racing package. Other highlights include Jetprime Racing switches, adjustable footrests, levers, and protective components from Spider, as well as a CNC-machined upper triple clamp with serial number.
The dry weight is 165 kg (approx. 364 lbs) – which, combined with the engine power, results in an impressive power-to-weight ratio.
Limitation, price, and exclusivity
Only 30 units of the RSV4 X-GP will be built worldwide, all numbered and available only online via the factoryworks.aprilia.com platform. The price is €90,000 plus VAT (approximately $96,000, depending on the exchange rate). Buyers can expect an exclusive handover at the Racing Department in Noale, including a tour of the racing department.

It is a tribute to a decade of MotoGP involvement, a mobile technology demonstration, and an exclusive collector’s item for riders with high standards. Every component, every line, every function is derived from the world of racing – you can’t get any closer to MotoGP than this.
