- Design patent for Vida VXZ filed in India
- Joint development by Hero MotoCorp and Zero Motorcycles
- Initial presentation as a concept at EICMA 2025
With the VXZ project, Hero MotoCorp is expanding its electric motorcycle portfolio toward a model suitable for the mass market. Following the concept premiere at EICMA 2025 in Milan, the design patent that has now been published provides concrete clues about the planned production version and its basic technical orientation.

Independent design despite cooperation with Zero
Although the electric motorcycle was developed in collaboration with Zero Motorcycles, the patent drawings clearly show that it is not an adaptation of an existing Zero model. Instead, the Vida VXZ was developed from scratch as a completely new motorcycle. The name VXZ, derived from Vida x Zero, also underscores the collaborative approach without diluting the independence of the project.
In terms of design, the VXZ presents itself as a sporty naked streetfighter. Striking features include the angular LED headlight, the distinctive fairings, and the compact rear with a split seat layout. A slim silhouette and clean lines indicate a focus on urban use.

Chassis, drive, and equipment
Some key technical details can also be gleaned from the patent documents. The Vida VXZ features an USD telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock rear suspension. Braking is provided by disc brakes at the front and rear, designed as petal discs. Power is transmitted via a low-maintenance belt drive, which is designed to be quieter and require less maintenance than a conventional chain.
The electric motorcycle rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels. A 110/70 tubeless tire is planned for the front. A centrally mounted battery integrated into a trellis frame sits in the center of the vehicle. The package is complemented by a fully digital cockpit, which, according to the patent illustrations, is designed to support multiple riding modes. A partially faired front end also gives the motorcycle a slightly aerodynamic character.
Technology still under wraps
Hero MotoCorp has not yet released any official performance data, battery capacities, or ranges. However, based on the size and positioning of the battery pack, there is speculation that the VXZ could be based on familiar Zero models. Depending on the configuration, these achieve ranges between 160 km and 275 km. Whether Hero MotoCorp will use similar battery technologies or develop a solution specifically tailored to the Indian market has not yet been confirmed.

Outlook for market launch and further projects
The manufacturer has not yet announced a specific market launch date. Industry observers assume that a production-ready version could be presented at EICMA 2026 in November. The design patent is seen as a clear signal that the project is at an advanced stage of development.
In addition to the VXZ, Hero MotoCorp is also working on other electric motorcycles. These include the Ubex, a concept with an urban focus that was also shown at EICMA 2025. However, the Vida VXZ is expected to be the first model specifically targeting the mass market in the electric motorcycle segment.
