Compact, clever, competitive: The new edition of the Apache RR 310

The Indian motorcycle brand TVS Motor Company has comprehensively revised its sporty flagship, the Apache RR 310, for the 2025 model year.  Although the fully enclosed single-cylinder sports machine will continue to be offered primarily on the domestic market, the technological fine-tuning suggests that the company also has more international plans for the future.  With a fresh design, new assistance systems and customizable options, TVS impressively demonstrates how much potential there is in the lightweight sports bike segment.

Performance and technology: more than just entry-level

At the heart of the Apache RR 310 remains the 312.2 cm³, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with inverted cylinder layout.  The power output is 38 hp (28 kW) at 9,700 rpm, the maximum torque is 29 Nm at 7,600 rpm – sufficient to move the machine, which weighs just 174 kg (384 lbs), with agility and a lot of acceleration.  This means that the Apache RR 310 definitely has what it takes for ambitious rides or occasional track days.

Thanks to the ride-by-wire system and anti-hopping clutch, the power can be controlled smoothly.  Four riding modes – Track, Sport, Urban and Rain – adapt the engine characteristics and ABS set-up to different conditions.  Particularly striking: the 2025 version now also has cornering-dependent traction control (RT-DSC) – a feature that is almost unique in this displacement class.  Also new: a launch control function for maximum acceleration and a second-generation race computer with multi-language capability.

Design and equipment: sporty genes, modern look

The look has also been sharpened up.  New 8-spoke alloy wheels and sequential LED indicators ensure a contemporary appearance.  The TFT instrument unit has been further optimized and provides all relevant information in a customizable display.

The BTO (Built-To-Order) program remains a particular highlight: Interested buyers can customize their Apache RR 310 ex works.  Options include the Dynamic Kit with adjustable suspension, the Dynamic Pro Kit for a sportier riding position and the Sepang Blue Race Replica paintwork, which is based on the ARRC racing motorcycle from TVS.

Market opportunities and international prospects

The Apache RR 310 is based on the platform that was also used for the BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS.  Although the latter have been withdrawn from the Indian market, TVS is continuing to develop its own model series.  Expansion outside of Asia has not yet been confirmed, but appears to be a logical step in view of the high-quality equipment and the attractive price-performance ratio.

The concept is convincing: a lightweight sports bike with modern technology, individual options and a racing look – a combination that could also find favor in Europe or North America, especially in the entry-level segment below 400 cc.

Conclusion: Nobody needs more sportbike in this class

The 2025 Apache RR 310 shows that modern features such as traction control, launch control and customizable suspension options do not have to be reserved for the big machines.  TVS is confidently positioning itself in the international competition and bringing a breath of fresh air to the compact sports bike segment.
