Benelli has unveiled the all-new 302R entry-level sportbike. A launch on the Indian market is expected before the end of this year. But the small sports bike could also come to Asia or Europe.
Many changes for the new model
The new Benelli 302R said goodbye to the halogen headlight and now relies on lightweight LED technology. Instead of the analog speedometer, a full-color TFT display has now been installed. Overall, the new model looks slimmer, edgier and thus more aggressive.
The 41mm upside-down fork now has adjustable spring preload, as does the monoshock. Braking at the front is by four-piston calipers.
Less power, less weight
The 302cc parallel twin has been revised to meet Euro5 (for Europe) and BS6 (for India). It produces 34 PS and has lost some power as a result of the change. The chassis that houses the engine has been made lighter and stiffer. Overall, it was possible to save 22 kg on the Benelli 302R compared to the previous model. Ready to ride, the weight is given as 182 kg.
