- First Arai off-road model with FIM FRHPhe-02 homologation
- Meets all requirements for international competition
- Based on the MX-V EVO and Arai’s many years of racing experience
The helmet was developed based on the well-known MX-V EVO and is designed to combine the safety-oriented advances that Arai has accumulated over decades of competition. As a result, the MX-V EVO FIM Racing #2 is primarily aimed at riders who need a model that is suitable for professional use under FIM regulations.
Design and construction
Arai uses Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction, or PB-cLc2 for short, in this model. This shell construction is designed to achieve a balance between robustness and low weight. In addition, energy distribution during impacts is optimized. This is based on the “glancing off” principle, whereby a helmet design that is as round and smooth as possible ensures that impacting forces do not penetrate the helmet unnecessarily.
Shell shape and design principle
For years, Arai has emphasized the importance of an egg-shaped helmet design that is as smooth as possible. The so-called R75 shape consistently focuses on rounded lines without pronounced edges or attachments. This geometry is said to have contributed significantly to the MX-V EVO FIM Racing #2 meeting the FRHPhe-02 standard without any major adjustments.
Functional innovations
Compared to the MX-V EVO, the visor has been redesigned to improve stability and airflow at competition speeds. The ventilation channels have also been modified to provide better cooling during longer, physically demanding off-road use.
Areas of application and availability
With FIM approval, the helmet is now approved for all off-road championships under FIM regulations. Teams and riders can therefore use the model as a fully-fledged competition option in the 2026 season and beyond.
The MX-V EVO FIM Racing #2 is available exclusively in white. Sizes range from XS to XL and are available through Arai’s authorized dealer network. Further documentation and information on homologation is available from the respective importers.
Presentation at INTERMOT
Interested parties can also see the helmet at INTERMOT in Cologne. It will be on display at the Paaschburg & Wunderlich stand in Hall 8.1. The exhibition runs from December 4 to 7.
