BMW has introduced the new R 18 Classic, which is basically a touring version of the R 18, equipped with panniers and windscreen. However, the touring suitability of this model is emphasized by a few features.
Powerful engine
The R 18 and the R 18 Classic share the large-volume Big Boxer engine, which develops 67 kW or 91 hp at 4750 rpm. In the torque range from 2000 to 4000 rpm, more than 150 Nm are permanently available.
Suitable for touring
In order to make the R 18 Classic more suitable for touring, a large removable windshield was installed. The passenger seat is also removable, as are the side saddlebags. Beside the main headlights two LED auxiliary lights were installed. In the fork is now a 16 inch front wheel, which was equipped with tires in the dimensions 130/90.
The R 18 Classic is equipped with electronic speed control as standard.
