Various BMWs are being recalled because they may be leaking fuel at the fuel pump. There was already an identical recall in August 2020, here various models from the construction period between 2005 and 2012 were affected.

As it stands, the problem also existed in the years after that, as various models from the 2011 to 2014 build period are now affected.

The problem was caused by the use of a pneumatic tool used to attach the hose to the fuel pump by clamp. Due to an incorrect tolerance in the fastening, cracks may have occurred in the bottle of the pump. This could cause gasoline to leak out and, in the worst case, cause a fire.

The recall originates from the American area, since motorcycles are usually built in a factory for the global market, other markets may also be affected.

The following models are currently affected:

  • BMW HP4 (2013-2014)
  • BMW K 1300 S (2011-2014)
  • BMW K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL, K 1600 GTL Exclusive (2011-2014)

  • BMW S 1000 R (2014)
  • BMW S 1000 RR (2011-2014)

  • BMW K1300S (2009-2011)
  • BMW K1300GT (2009-2011)
  • BMW S1000 RR (2010-2011)
