Ducati has presented the new models of the Multistrada V4 family as part of its World Première 2025 series: the Multistrada V4, the V4 S and the sporty Pikes Peak.  With the updates for the 2025 model year, Ducati is introducing a series of improvements designed to increase riding comfort as well as safety and efficiency.  Particularly noteworthy are the automatic lowering system and the extended deactivation of the rear cylinder, which is intended to reduce fuel consumption by up to 6%.

Sporty reorientation with the Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak

The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak 2025 is aimed at riders looking for a sporty experience.  Compared to the regular Multistrada V4, the Pikes Peak not only offers more specific ergonomics, but also a sportier suspension set-up.  The Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension, which is based on event-based settings, makes it possible to adjust the suspension according to riding style.  The rider can choose between Track, Dynamic, Comfort and Low Grip modes, which makes the Pikes Peak particularly versatile.  There is also the new Race Riding Mode, which further emphasizes the sporty nature of this model.

The striking design of the Pikes Peak is underlined by numerous carbon fiber parts, an Akrapovič titanium silencer and an eye-catching racing paint finish inspired by MotoGP and Superbike. The 17-inch front wheel with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires (120/70 front and 190/55 rear) ensures precise handling, while the braking system with Brembo brakes front and rear ensures maximum control.  A special feature remains the single-sided swingarm, which is now mounted on a pivot point that is 1 millimeter higher, which improves the responsiveness of the suspension.

Improvements to the Multistrada V4 and V4 S

Both the Multistrada V4 and the V4 S 2025 benefit from revised ergonomics that further improve comfort for rider and passenger.  This includes the revised front section, which not only looks sportier, but also offers better protection against wind and weather.  The new headlight unit also reduces shadows in front of the front wheel, while the Ducati Brake Light Evo flashes at speeds below 15 km/h to alert following vehicles to the braking maneuver.

Both models are equipped with the V4 Granturismo engine, which produces 170 hp (125 kW) at 10,750 rpm.  The torque is 123.8 Nm at 9,000 rpm.  The cylinder deactivation of the rear cylinder at low speeds and when stationary not only reduces fuel consumption, but also contributes to lower emissions.

Electronic innovations and safety

The Multistrada V4 S is known for its extensive electronic equipment.  It was the first motorcycle to be equipped with front and rear radar as standard, which supports functions such as adaptive cruise control (ACC) and blind spot detection (BSD).  Forward Collision Warning (FCW), which warns the driver of potential collisions, will be added in 2025.  There is also a new semi-active chassis with Skyhook DSS EVO technology and Bump Detection, which reacts to bumps in the road in real time.

The DVO (Ducati Vehicle Observer) plays an important role here: it analyzes the loads and forces acting on the motorcycle and refines the strategies for the Cornering ABS, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Ducati Traction Control (DTC).  There are also three levels of Engine Brake Control (EBC), with which the rider can individually adjust the degree of engine braking.

Comfort for long tours

Ducati has also thought about comfort for the passenger.  The luggage racks have been moved further back to provide more legroom.  The automatic lowering system, which is activated at speeds below 10 km/h, lowers the motorcycle by up to 30 mm, making it easier for the rider to reach the ground.  This function can be deactivated if desired.  As soon as the speed exceeds 50 km/h, the Multistrada automatically returns to its original height.

Conclusion

The 2025 Multistrada V4 models combine sporty performance with touring capability and state-of-the-art technology.  With a focus on comfort, safety and versatility, they are the ideal companions for anyone who travels both on and off the road.  The new models will be available from October 2024 in the colors Ducati Red, Thrilling Black and Arctic White.
