The 19th edition of Ride to the Wall (RTTW) takes place on Saturday, 3 October 2026 – Britain’s largest organised motorcycle tribute ride. Since 2008, thousands of motorcyclists, known as “Wallers”, have ridden in up to 12 organised convoys from across the United Kingdom and Europe to the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire, to honour British service personnel who have died on active duty since 1945.

Remembrance on two wheels

At the heart of the National Memorial Arboretum stands the Armed Forces Memorial – an imposing Portland stone ring structure inscribed with the names of more than 16,000 fallen service personnel. Riders gather there for a joint Service of Remembrance, honouring the victims of all armed conflicts since the Second World War.

Route and schedule

12 organised routes start from motorway services and meeting points across the United Kingdom. The convoys are escorted by experienced RTTW marshals in yellow hi-vis vests, with outriders and backmarkers in orange. The routes average 90 miles on motorways and 20–45 miles on country roads. Additional riders set off from Drayton Manor Park with a flag procession at 12:15.

Registration and participation

Registration for RTTW 2026 has been open since 24 April 2026. Over 3,000 motorcycles and more than 4,000 participants are already registered. Participation is free, and donations towards the upkeep of the National Memorial Arboretum are welcome. Merchandise such as the new 2026 T-shirt and patches can be ordered through the RTTW webshop.

Recognition and background

Ride to the Wall is a registered charity (No. 1142369) and received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2013 – the MBE equivalent for volunteer groups. The initiative is politically independent and non-commercial. RTTW was founded by Martin Dickinson; all funds raised go exclusively towards the upkeep and preservation of the National Memorial Arboretum.

Further information, route details and registration are available on the official website www.rttw.org.
