Goodwood Revival – 2026

The World’s Greatest Historic Motorsport Event
From 18 to 20 September 2026, the Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex is transformed into a time machine: the Goodwood Revival brings the golden era of motorsport from 1948 to 1966 back to life. No other event in the world stages historic racing as authentically – from the racing cars and motorcycles to the visitors’ clothing, the pit lane design and the period-correct advertising around the circuit.
The Goodwood Motor Circuit is the only circuit in Britain still preserved in its original 1948 condition. The 3.86-kilometre (2.4-mile) track hosted legendary races between 1948 and 1966 before it was closed and revived in 1998 by the Duke of Richmond as the Revival meeting. Since then, it has become the mecca of the classic motorsport scene worldwide.
Race Programme 2026
The 2026 edition features fifteen races across three days. Among the highlights:
- Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy – The motorcycle highlight: historic 1960s racing motorcycles in a two-rider team format on the original circuit. Named after two-time 500cc World Champion Barry Sheene.
- Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy – The traditional Friday evening race featuring some of the most valuable and beautiful GT racing cars in the world, including Jaguar E-Types, Aston Martin DB4 GTs and Ferrari 250 SWBs.
- Lavant Cup – Returns with a spectacular grid of 1950s Ferrari and Maserati sports cars.
- Brooklands Trophy – Sports car endurance racing in the spirit of the Brooklands era.
- St Mary’s Trophy – Saloon car racing with celebrity guest drivers, including former Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button.
The Unique Revival Atmosphere
What sets the Goodwood Revival apart from every other motorsport event is the complete time-travel experience. Tens of thousands of visitors dress in original 1940s–1960s fashion – from petticoat dresses and victory rolls to tweed suits and flying jackets. The entire infrastructure, from food stalls to announcements and music, is period-authentic.
Beyond the circuit, the grounds feature the Earls Court Motor Show (a 1950s/60s-style car exhibition), the Over The Road area with vintage trade and lifestyle, the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation display at the adjacent Goodwood Aerodrome, and the Bonhams Auction – one of the year’s most important sales of historic vehicles and motorcycles.
Italian Focus in 2026
The 2026 edition puts Italian style and passion centre stage. At the Turning Circle (Gate 2), the Revival celebrates Italy’s motorsport heritage – from Ducati and MV Agusta to Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and Lancia. Alongside spectacular racing machinery, prominent figures from Italian motorsport history are expected to attend.
