MotoGP – German Grand Prix – 2026

MotoGP German Grand Prix 2026 at Sachsenring
From July 10 to 12, 2026, the MotoGP World Championship returns to the Sachsenring near Hohenstein-Ernstthal in Saxony, Germany. The LIQUI MOLY Grand Prix of Germany is traditionally one of the season’s highlights, attracting over 200,000 spectators to the 3.671 km circuit nestled in the Ore Mountain foothills.
Circuit and Statistics
With 13 corners – ten left-handers and just three right-handers – the Sachsenring is one of the most demanding tracks on the calendar. Its most distinctive feature is “The Waterfall,” a spectacular plunging downhill right-hander that demands absolute concentration. The longest straight measures 700 meters, and the track width is 12 meters throughout. Racing has taken place in the Chemnitz region since the 1920s; the modern circuit was built in 1996 and underwent a major renovation in 2001. The Sachsenring has been a permanent fixture on the MotoGP calendar since 1998.
Sachsenring as a Travel Destination
The Sachsenring is located approximately 8 kilometers west of Chemnitz and is easily accessible via the A4 and A72 motorways. The surrounding Ore Mountains provide an attractive backdrop for an extended motorsport weekend. Hohenstein-Ernstthal, birthplace of author Karl May, and the cultural capital Chemnitz offer a wide range of accommodation and leisure options.
