MotoGP – Aragón Grand Prix – 2026

MotoGP Aragón Grand Prix 2026 – Racing in the Heart of Spain
MotorLand Aragón welcomes the MotoGP World Championship for the thirteenth time in the current era, marking the start of the second half of the season after the summer break. The 5.077-kilometre circuit near Alcañiz in the province of Teruel has been a permanent fixture on the racing calendar since 2010 and is widely regarded as one of the most demanding tracks on the schedule.
Circuit and Statistics
Designed by Hermann Tilke, the layout features 17 corners – ten left-handers and seven right-handers – along with a 968-metre main straight where top speeds exceed 340 km/h. The anti-clockwise circuit offers a genuine challenge for riders and machinery alike, with elevation changes of up to 50 metres and varying corner radii throughout the lap. Marc Márquez holds the outright lap record with a time of 1:45.801, set in 2025. The continental inland location in the Aragonese steppe produces extreme conditions, with track temperatures regularly exceeding 55°C during summer events.
Alcañiz and the Region
The medieval town of Alcañiz lies just a few kilometres from the circuit and offers a charming contrast to the race weekend with its castle, Gothic main church and bustling Plaza de España. The Bajo Aragón region is renowned for its olive oil production and the traditional drumming ceremony during Semana Santa. The nearest international airport is in Zaragoza (approximately 130 km), with Reus near Tarragona (approximately 180 km) as an alternative.
