MotoGP San Marino Grand Prix 2026 – Round 14 at Misano
The Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini is one of the most atmospheric events on the MotoGP calendar. From September 11 to 13, 2026, the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” welcomes the MotoGP paddock for round fourteen of the season. The circuit on the Italian Adriatic coast is named after Marco Simoncelli, who tragically lost his life in 2011, and has established itself as one of the most emotional venues in motorcycle Grand Prix racing since joining the calendar in 2007.
Circuit and Statistics
The 4.226-kilometre layout features 16 corners – ten right-handers and six left-handers – and is raced in a clockwise direction. The combination of the fast Curvone section, technically demanding chicanes and the 530-metre main straight challenges riders and machinery in equal measure. The layout favours close wheel-to-wheel battles, making the San Marino GP regularly one of the most exciting races of the season. The proximity of the grandstands to the track creates an atmosphere that is hard to match.
Misano and the Rimini Riviera as a Travel Destination
The circuit is located just a few kilometres from the seaside resorts of Rimini, Riccione and Cattolica – a race weekend can easily be combined with a short holiday on the Adriatic coast. The region is renowned for its culinary diversity, beach promenades and vibrant nightlife. The Republic of San Marino with its medieval old town and Monte Titano is reachable from the circuit in around 30 minutes by car. The nearest airport is Federico Fellini Airport in Rimini (RMI), just about 15 minutes away. Alternatively, Bologna Airport (BLQ) offers access via the A14 motorway in around 90 minutes.
