28th European Bike Week at Lake Faak
From September 8 to 13, 2026, the southern shores of Lake Faak in Carinthia will once again become the epicenter of Europe’s motorcycle scene. The 28th edition of European Bike Week draws over 100,000 bikers from across the continent to this picturesque lake in the tri-border region of Austria, Italy, and Slovenia. What began in 1998 as a regional Harley-Davidson gathering has grown into the largest motorcycle event in Europe – and admission remains completely free.
Harley Village and Expo
The heart of European Bike Week is the Harley Village surrounding the lakeside farmers’ market area. Numerous European Harley-Davidson authorized dealers showcase the current model ranges spanning Sport, Cruiser, Grand American Touring, and Adventure Touring segments. The H-D Expo presents the latest 2026 motorcycles, apparel, and accessories. Those keen to experience the machines firsthand can take free demo rides on Carinthia’s legendary mountain passes. The Adventure Zone also offers Pan America models for off-road testing on dedicated courses.
Program Highlights and Live Music
Five evenings of live music at the Saloon Bar and Harley Bar keep the party going throughout the week. The musical kickoff on Tuesday, September 8, features rock legends Dave Hill’s Slade performing at the Burgarena Finkenstein – tickets are limited and available through showticket.shop. On Friday, September 11, the traditional Custom Bike Show takes over the old town of Villach – about a 20-minute ride from Lake Faak – where handcrafted builds compete for top honors across six categories. Saturday’s highlight is once again the legendary Harley Parade, Europe’s largest motorcycle procession, departing from the Rosentaler Straße roundabout.
Carinthian Hospitality
Beyond the Harley-Davidson activities, the region surrounding Lake Faak and Villach offers an attractive supporting program. The Carinthian Corner and Arneitz Village at the lakeside feature regional cuisine, artisan crafts, and biker merchandise. In Villach’s city center, the “Bikers Welcome” program rolls out the red carpet for visitors. The combination of alpine scenery, mild climate, and proximity to Italy and Slovenia makes the region an ideal base for extended motorcycle tours over passes such as the Plöcken Pass, Nassfeld, or Wurzen Pass.
Admission and Accommodation
Admission to European Bike Week is free – all areas of the Harley Village, the Expo, demo rides, and live music program are open to everyone. Accommodation around Lake Faak typically books up months in advance. Campsites, guesthouses, and hotels in the area can be booked through the official website bikeweek.at.
