North West 200 – 2026
Briggs Equipment North West 200 – 2026
The North West 200 returns to Northern Ireland’s stunning Causeway Coast from May 4 to 9, 2026, for another unforgettable week of road racing. Ireland’s largest outdoor sporting event draws over 150,000 spectators to the legendary Triangle Circuit between Portstewart, Coleraine and Portrush. With nearly a century of racing history, the NW200 stands as one of the most prestigious road races in the world – and the only remaining event to feature a mass start format.
The 2026 edition runs under the official title “Briggs Equipment North West 200.” Around 100 riders will push the limits across nine races on public roads along the Causeway Coast. Adventure legend Charley Boorman will officially open race week and is filming a documentary about the event.
The Circuit: Triangle Circuit
The Triangle Circuit stretches 14.4 km (8.9 miles) along public roads connecting the three coastal towns of Portstewart, Coleraine and Portrush. With top speeds exceeding 320 km/h (200 mph) on the long straights, the NW200 ranks among the fastest road races on earth. Unlike the Isle of Man TT, which runs as a time trial, the North West 200 features simultaneous mass starts – making the races particularly spectacular and unpredictable.
The Region as a Travel Destination
The Causeway Coast in the north of Northern Ireland offers far more than motorsport. The famous Giant’s Causeway (UNESCO World Heritage Site) lies just a short drive away, along with the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge and the ruins of Dunluce Castle. The new five-star Dunluce Lodge hotel serves as the official hospitality partner for the 2026 event.
