On 04/23/2021, Toshihiro Mibe, CEO and President of Honda, presented Honda’s future plans at a speech. The goal is a 100% emission-free carbon neutrality for all global Honda products and corporate activities.
To this end, Honda aims to greatly expand electric two- and four-wheel options, as well as the installation of replaceable Honda Mobile Power Pack-type batteries.
However, in addition to pure electric vehicles, Honda is also focusing on fuel cell vehicles. Since North America is a very important market for Honda, the plans here have already been made a bit more specific. By 2030, 40 percent of the vehicles sold are to belong to one of the two categories. By 2035, they want to double the number to 80% and reach 100% by 2040. Worldwide, this goal is planned for 2050.
