- 889 cc parallel twin with 106 HP (78 kW) and 100 Nm at 6,500 rpm
- WP Pro Components suspension with 270 mm travel
- Worldwide limited production run, UK price at £19,299 (approx. €22,700 / $24,500)
The KTM 890 Adventure R Rally is back for another round. Following the predecessor model from 2024, which was limited to 700 units and sold out in record time, KTM is now launching a new edition of its offroad-focused special model. Production at the Austrian plant in Mattighofen is set to begin in March, with dealer deliveries planned for April 2026. KTM has not yet revealed how many units will be produced this time, only confirming that the run will once again be globally limited.
Suspension Straight from Motorsport
The centrepiece of the Rally version — and the biggest difference from the standard 890 Adventure R — is the suspension. Instead of the WP XPLOR components found on the base model, the Rally uses genuine competition components. The lightweight WP XPLOR PRO fork features Cone Valve technology, while a WP XPLOR PRO shock handles the rear. Both ends offer 270 mm of travel, which is 30 mm more than the standard R’s 240 mm. Ground clearance stands at 303 mm and seat height at 910 mm, making the motorcycle clearly aimed at experienced off-road riders who venture into demanding terrain.
According to KTM, the suspension comes directly from the WP Factory Racing competition programme and is intended to deliver genuine race technology rather than street-adapted hardware. Despite the sporting focus, comfort is not supposed to suffer — the suspension is designed to maintain stability and control even when fully loaded with luggage or a passenger.
Proven Parallel Twin with 106 HP
For the engine, KTM sticks with the familiar 889 cc parallel twin from the LC8c family. Power is rated at 106 HP (78 kW), with torque at 100 Nm (73.8 lb.ft) at 6,500 rpm. MCN reports 104.5 bhp in its coverage, which can be attributed to different measurement methods. Compared to the 2024 predecessor model, which was rated at 105 HP, KTM has made a minor adjustment. Wet weight is stated at 200 kg (excluding the 20-litre tank), keeping the Rally within reasonable bounds despite its extensive equipment package.

Electronics with a Rally Focus
The electronics package is orientated towards competition use. The so-called Tech Pack is included as standard — an option that costs extra on the base model. It includes Rally Mode, a bidirectional quickshifter, cruise control and cornering traction control. These are complemented by offroad ABS, traction control and multiple riding modes configurable via the 5-inch TFT display. A connectivity unit with turn-by-turn navigation is also part of the standard specification.
Looks Inspired by the Red Bull Factory Racing Design
Visually, the 2026 Rally differs considerably from its predecessor. While the 2024 model was finished in classic KTM orange, the new edition wears a design inspired by the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team, featuring prominent blue tones. KTM describes it as a new Rally CTG with a two-tone tank design meant to evoke the Dakar-winning machines. The Akrapovič Slip-on Line end silencer is fitted as standard, underlining the performance credentials.
Equipment in Detail
The equipment list is extensive. Standard fitment includes heavy-duty rims in 2.15 x 21 inches at the front and 4.00 x 18 inches at the rear, a rally seat, Factory Racing footpegs, carbon fibre tank protectors, a Supersprox Stealth rear sprocket and Mitas Enduro Trail tyres. This means the Rally is ready for hard offroad use straight from the factory, without buyers needing to reach for the accessories catalogue.
Price, Availability and Warranty
KTM has not yet announced an official euro price for the German market. In the UK, the 890 Adventure R Rally is listed at £19,299 (approx. €22,700 / $24,500). For comparison, the 2024 model was priced at £20,899 in the UK, meaning it was more expensive despite the limited run of 700 units. Whether prices will follow suit in Germany remains to be seen.
Unusual for a limited special model is the included KTM Premium manufacturer warranty. Buyers receive coverage of up to four years, provided the regular service intervals are maintained at an authorised KTM dealer.
Anyone interested in the KTM 890 Adventure R Rally 2026 should contact their local KTM dealer without delay. Given the limited production run and last year’s experience — when the 700 units sold out in record time — availability is expected to be tight once again.
