The rumours of the partnership between Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp, India’s largest original equipment manufacturer for two-wheelers, have now been officially confirmed.
Benefits for both parties
Both companies will benefit from this partnership. Hero will use its extensive network to sell Harleys and also to carry out service work such as maintenance. Accessories and parts will also be sold through Hero’s network.
In return, Hero will be responsible for the development of a range of premium models that will be sold under the Harley-Davidson brand. In return they will have access to HD technology and knowledge.
Hero is the largest motorbike manufacturer in India, but has so far specialised in models with smaller engine capacities. The cooperation with Harley will allow them to expand their segment.
