- Free 10-year warranty with no mileage limit for all Suzuki new vehicles sold in France from 2026
- Only condition: annual maintenance at the official Suzuki dealer network
- Accompanied by some significant price reductions on several models
The motorcycle market is becoming increasingly complex. A challenging economic environment, regulatory developments that don’t exactly favor combustion powertrains, and ever-growing competition from Asia are putting pressure on established manufacturers. Suzuki has felt this particularly strongly in France in recent years, where the brand’s influence has declined noticeably. Now, the Japanese manufacturer from Hamamatsu aims to counter this with a comprehensive strategy under the new slogan “By your side.”
10-Year Warranty With No Mileage Limit
After already lowering prices in France since December 2025, Suzuki is now banking on another, quite surprising argument: the reliability of its own products. Starting March 15, 2026, a new warranty program will take effect in France, extending the warranty on all Suzuki motorcycles and scooters to 10 years. This warranty is free of charge and has no mileage limit.
For comparison: Honda only extended its own warranty in France to six years last year. Suzuki is now going significantly further, promising a full decade of coverage. Such an offer is unprecedented in the European motorcycle market.
The only requirement for the extended warranty: annual maintenance must be carried out at the official Suzuki dealer network. However, anyone who has had their machine serviced outside the network in the meantime can re-enter the program. This requires a fault code check at an authorized Suzuki dealer. If open fault codes are found, these must first be resolved at the owner’s expense before the warranty takes effect again.
Retroactive for All New Vehicles From January 2026
The new warranty program officially takes effect on March 15, 2026, but applies retroactively to all new Suzuki motorcycles and scooters sold in France since January 1, 2026. Anyone who purchased a new Suzuki at the beginning of the year will automatically benefit from the extended warranty.
Whether Suzuki will expand this program to other markets is not yet known. The announcement refers exclusively to France. Given the positive signal it sends, however, an expansion to other European countries would certainly be conceivable.
Price Reductions on Numerous Models
Alongside the new warranty policy, Suzuki is continuing its pricing offensive in France. Several models have become significantly cheaper. The DR-Z4S and DR-Z4SM have dropped by 700 euros (approximately $825). The GSX-8T and GSX-S1000GT see savings of 1,200 euros (approximately $1,415). The GSX-8TT has been reduced by 1,600 euros (approximately $1,885), and the largest price cut applies to the GSX-S1000GX with a reduction of 2,100 euros (approximately $2,475).
The limited-edition GSX-R1000R 40e Anniversaire has also been adjusted to the new pricing policy and is available for 20,499 euros (approximately $24,150). 34 units of this special edition sportbike will be available for test rides at French dealers starting in April. The first customer deliveries are expected from June onward.
What Does This Mean for Motorcyclists?
Suzuki’s 10-year warranty in France is, first and foremost, an offer that applies exclusively to the French market. For motorcyclists in other countries, it remains to be seen whether Suzuki will roll out the program internationally. Regardless, the measure sends an interesting signal to the entire industry: when a manufacturer is willing to back its products over such a long period, it increases the pressure on competitors to follow suit. Honda has already extended to six years in France, while other manufacturers sometimes offer only the statutory two years. If the Suzuki model proves successful, it could benefit buyers in Germany and other European markets in the medium term as well—either through comparable programs or at least through a general trend toward longer warranty periods.
A Strategic Realignment in France
The combination of extended warranty and aggressive pricing shows that Suzuki has by no means given up on the French market. Quite the contrary: the manufacturer is signaling strong confidence in the durability and quality of its products. A 10-year warranty with no mileage limit is a statement that is only economically viable if failure rates are calculated to be correspondingly low.
At the same time, the program naturally ties customers to the official dealer network, which strengthens workshop utilization for authorized dealers. For potential buyers, the long warranty is also a tangible argument when it comes to resale: a used Suzuki with several years of manufacturer warranty remaining has a noticeable advantage on the pre-owned market.
In addition, Suzuki is offering further incentives through special promotions on selected motorcycles and scooters, which are set to run until the end of April 2026.
