- 1,037 cm³ V-twin with 106 hp (78 kW) at 8,500 rpm
- Three new color options per model
- Significantly reduced base prices for 2026
Suzuki is focusing on continuity for the V-Strom series in 2026. Instead of technical changes, the focus is on new paint finishes and a revised price structure. This means that both touring riders and adventure travelers will continue to find two clearly differentiated variants within the same model family.
Proven V-Twin as the shared heart of the bike
The familiar 90-degree V-Twin with a displacement of 1,037 cm³ and DOHC valve control remains unchanged. The engine complies with Euro 5 Plus and delivers a peak output of 106 hp (78 kW) at 8,500 rpm. The maximum torque of 100 Nm is available at 6,000 rpm and provides noticeable pulling power, especially in the mid-speed range.
Two iridium spark plugs per cylinder are part of the concept. While the main spark plug operates across the entire speed range, the second spark plug supports clean and even combustion, especially at low speeds. Sodium-filled exhaust valves help reduce thermal stress and are designed to increase the stability of the engine. The compact design of the V-twin also results in a low center of gravity, which has a positive effect on handling.
Six-speed transmission with a focus on comfort and dynamics
The gear ratios are designed for versatility. A short-ratio first gear makes starting and accelerating easier, while the long-ratio sixth gear reduces the engine speed at a constant highway speed. Both models come standard with a bidirectional Quick Shift System that allows clutchless gear changes in both directions.
The Suzuki Clutch Assist System is also used. This reduces the hand force required on the clutch lever and acts as an anti-hopping clutch when downshifting to prevent the rear wheel from locking or stamping.
Two clearly distinct concepts within one series
V-Strom 1050DE: Focus on adventure off the asphalt
The V-Strom 1050DE is aimed at riders who regularly plan to ride on unpaved roads. Wire spoke wheels, a 21-inch front wheel, and longer suspension travel underline its off-road credentials. Suzuki is taking its cue from the spirit of earlier large touring enduros and positioning the DE variant as a robust adventure model for mixed use.
V-Strom 1050: Touring-oriented adventure bike
The V-Strom 1050 remains more geared towards road use and long journeys. Cast wheels in 19 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear, as well as a stiffer chassis geometry, are designed to provide a balance between handling and stability. This variant really comes into its own with heavier loads and long highway journeys.
New colors and lower prices for 2026
Suzuki is introducing three new color variants for the 2026 model year. At the same time, the recommended retail prices are being reduced, which should make it easier to enter the class of large V-Strom models.
